My world began when the goddess, Ariela of light, and the god, Divar of darkness, gave birth to four children: Aqua of the oceans, Fiona of the flames, Apollo of the sky, and Brock of the earth. In death these children became the protectors of the elements. Their divine power was sealed within four divine animals: Silverus the serpent, Pheseus the dragon, Ilmatar the hawk, and Nieres the lion.

We, the humans, were given to the goddess as a gift. She placed us on the world where the divine animals were hidden. She thought we would take care of them. She was wrong. When we found the animals we began to steal their power. Soon the animals became angry and attacked us. Then six powerful humans sealed these dangerous animals within four children. These four children soon became very powerful and the humans fought to seize their power. As the children matured their power grew and the war continued. The children, now adults, did not wish for their race to be extinguished by the flames of war. They used their power to bring peace. When the adults died, the animals were resealed within new children by those who were taught the power of sealing.

Now every adult has the ability to seal power away, and the power of the animals is no longer needed to keep the peace. Although they are no longer able to use all of their divine power, those who have the divine animals sealed within them are called daemons and are thought to be cursed and evil.

The humans are able to use their powers over the elements to become warriors and healers. Some humans still wish to hold the divine power of the elements, but they have been contained by the peace. The world I live in has lived in happiness and prosperity; but will this world soon meet a great demise?
