In a land long forgotten by time, no not those stupid lumbering lizards you dolt the MEDIEVAL era, there was a baby Prince to be born onto one of the kingdoms. In a small kingdom north side of the woods the queen had given out a most peculiar sort of prince, but we must save that for later. The child was named Cecil (pronounced SEE-SIL) and in all rights he had a very normal childhood. He grew into a nice lad of 16 when he became quite...peculiar.
He was by all accounts beautiful, long dark hair, piercing green eyes, etc., and skilled with his sworsdsmanship. But he did not show any interest in any maidens, sure he rescued plenty of them and sure got proposed to, and yet he did not settle. It wasn't that he thought the girls ugly, oh no quite the contrary, he held a high respect for all women. He just didn't see the point, 'Why should I get married? Quite useless one is with responsibilities weighing him down.' He reasoned. So he continued on saving damsels and even a few men out of a tight spot.
And people talked about that. Prince Cecil was quite the topic of many a conversation, ranging from praises to mocks. 'Musta' 'it is' head on sumtin' when he was a babe.' Or 'such a dumb lad prolly' don't even know what love is.' Cecil never really did care for talk and if he did he didn't show it. He did know what love is, thank you very much, he saw it in every lover's gaze, every widow's tears, and in every child and mother. On some deep level he was frightened by it, frightened of such a power that could cloud judgement, start wars, end them, and make or break whole countries. And yet on some deeper level he craved for it, like anyone is wont to do, wanted to know if it could be as magical as people say it is. For now though this peculiar prince was very much content in just saving people, until, if it ever did happen, he would be killed by the beast they call love.
While all this is good and well you musn't forget the other side of the coin! A few years before Prince Cecil came into being and witchling was made. A healthy young girl named Marili (pronounced MAR-E-LI), and unlike most witches she was the most unconventional witch ever to be seen.
She had stark blonde hair, almost hard to look at, and the softest, cow brown eyes. What alienated her more was her allergy to cats, so she had gotten herself a loyal German Shepherd. She also despised turning things into toads, nasty little blighters. Her temper could flare at any given moment and yet she was a hopeless romantic.
While most witches loved to terrorize lovers and on multiple occasions make love for others difficult, she loved to sit down and soak in all the romantic and tragic love stories. Her favourite was of a man who went to the underworld itself to reclaim his lover, he failed though like most. The other witches teased her about that, but she had a sharp mind and tongue to add to her un-witchy appearance. She just wished that somewhere out of her dreary woods life, someone might want to sweep her off her feet.
Is this...an original idea?! Guess who's coming to ruin it, this guy!
