Gabrielle
Mid-October 2011
Your very first day
Take a deep breath girl
Take a deep breath as you walk through those doors.
I stepped out of my limo and was immediately accosted by flashing cameras, and screaming fans. I smiled, taking a deep breath to steady myself, before walking the red carpet. I had been lucky enough to be invited to the premiere of ‘A New Native,’ a movie about Native American teens attempting to acclimate to life in a California private school after they were forced to move off their reservation. The director was the same as the musical that my agent, Anya, had called me about at the music video shoot. I had a final callback scheduled in a couple days, so the director had kindly put me on the guest list.
Since I’d had a small role in a television show when I was younger, a few interviewers recognized me and stopped me to ask questions.
“Gabrielle, Gabrielle, over here!” I turned and saw a reporter for Seventeen magazine.
“Yes?” I asked, smiling.
“Do you have a second to talk to us?”
“Sure,” I replied.
“So Gabrielle, are you seeing anyone right now?”
“No, not at the moment. I’m just enjoying focusing on my career for now.”
“And who are you wearing tonight? You look amazing!” the reporter said.
I smiled at the compliment.
”BCBG.” My dress was a BCBG wraparound dress, made of purple mesh with a black and orange pattern mixed in. I had my hair up in an intricate bun with a white flower ticked behind my ear. I had on huge, glittery chandelier earrings and a single strand of pearls around my neck.
“And last question. We saw you in Farah’s music video released last night. What else can we expect from you?”
“Well, right now I am going through the audition process for one of Bradley’s new projects, so hopefully I get that role! Otherwise, I’m looking to go more into acting again. I’ve done the dancing thing for a couple years now, and I really miss playing different characters. I plan to start auditioning like crazy!” I smiled one last time for the cameras, and turned, eyes watering from the bright flashbulbs.
“OOmf!” I exclaimed, as I walked into a rather large person, who had also been apparently blinded by the cameras. I looked up and saw Liam, from the music video.
“Gabrielle. We must stop meeting like this,” he said, smiling.
“Sorry, it was the flashbulbs.” I replied, suddenly getting nervous.
“Well how are you? I didn’t think I’d see you again so soon. You looked amazing in the video, by the way.”
“Thanks, Liam. You did a good job as well. And I’m good, a little tired form working so much, but I don’t mind. How are you?” I asked.
“Good, good. There’s still some time before I start touring again, so the lads and I are enjoying some downtime here. We’re staying with Louis’ girlfriend and her roommate. It’s such a laugh.”
I nodded and smiled, unsure of what to say next. Just then, one of Bradley’s assistants tapped us on our shoulders. “It’s time to get to your seats please.” I smiled at her. Bradley was such a wonderful director, and I was greatly looking forward to seeing the film.
