The cold breeze blew through the old oak tree that was just out side the window of Kaiden Wittmores room at the orphanage. The young boy was sitting upon the lumpy bed he had called his own for the last 2 years reading a book as he waited for his new family to come and pick him up.

A few days ago Mr and Mrs. Cotin had come to the orphanage in search for a child to call their own. They had been trying to have their own little munchkin for many years now, but we're not lucky enough to be blessed with one. They came in search for an infant but once their eyes came upon the quit boy in the corner reading a book they couldn't help but fall in love. Although they were looking for an infant they walked out with a 16 year old boy instead, but they couldn't be happier.

Now two days later the papers where signed and the room was set for the new addition to the family. The Cotins were on there way to get their new son, more exited then ever. Kaiden was not as thrilled as the Colton's were he had been to many different houses before but all of them decided they had no desire to care for a freak like him. Scares covered the left side of his body, from his ear to his hip was all scared tissue from the burns he had received in the fire that had taken his family 11 years ago. His left eye was a cloudy shade of grey and his right a bright green orb that resembled the forest. He was different and although it scared most people that's what had drawn Mrs. Cotin to him.

There was a soft knock on the other side of the door. Kaiden placed the pice of parchment he had been using as a book mark between the yellowing pages of his book.

"Its open!" He shouted loud enough for the person on the other side to hear his response. The door slowly slide open and Mr. Mar popped his head through the crack.

"Hey kiddo, the Cotins are here to pick you up" he said with a soft smile. Mr. Mar was a nice man in his late 50's hair was no longer a thing he provided and his eyes were covered by thick rimmed glasses that were perched on his long pointed nose. He was dressed in brown slacks, his pot belly was covered by a blue and grey striped cardigan. Kaiden was dressed in a plain white tee shirt tucked into dark Levi's that he had rolled at the bottoms with his worn shoes and long white socks. He nodded as he slipped off the twin bed placing the book in his bag slinging it around his shoulders before walking out the door to the dimly lite hallway and down the dark wooden stairs.

As he approaches the last few steps Mrs. Cotin is the first thing to catch his eye she was dressed in a white Cotten skirt with large flowers printed on the fabric in a light shade of pink that matched her wool button up cardigan sweater. A bright smile was placed on to her aged face as her blue eyes were lite with excitement as she watched her new son approach her and her husband. Kaidens face was hidden in the shadow from the black hood of his sweatshirt he had thrown on before he left his room. His facial features blank with emotion as he lazily walked towards them.

"Hi sweetie, my name is Caroline, I'm so happy to finally be able to meet you" Mrs.Cotin said with a loving and soft voice. The voice of a mother. Kaiden just stared at her threw his thick eyelashes with his head towards the wooden floor. Caroline cleared her throat as she took a cautious step forwards getting closer to the boy. She was cautious of her actions having been told of his past and not wanting to upset him. She had only known him for a very short time, yet she already loved him more then anything in the world. This was her son and she would see him as nothing less then that. This child was meant to come to her. And she knew that.

"Hello son, I'm Richard, Caroline's husband" Mr. Cotin was a tall man with a slim figure. Greying hair and a clean face. He was wearing black slacks with a blue cardigan and a red tie over his white button up shirt. Kaiden could tell they had a decent amount of money considering there dress attire, not that it mattered he probably wouldn't be staying long anyways, so why should he care.
