Veronica's POV

"Can I have a caesarsalad with a glass of house's red wine, please?"
"Same for me, please.", Archie said staring at the young brownheaded waitress. She smiled at him and took our orders and left. Archie followed her with his stare, until she disappeared to the kitchen.
"Come on Archie, leave her alone. She's trying to do her work!", I said annoyed tone in my voice.
"She's not the reason why we came here, remember? We have our businesses."
"Yeah, right", he said little disappointedly.
"So, how is our business going?", I asked.
"Amazingly! I just made a new contract with the big restaurant chain. We'll be drowned in money!", he said clearly excited.
"Great, but you have to relax, Arch. In the economy, one wrong move can make us lose everything.", I reminded him.
"Yeah... but why can't we enjoy, when we're finally succeeding?", Archie asked smiling at me.
"Of course! Let's celebrate that tonight!"
"Sure thing, boss!" he answered laughing.

It was already pretty dark when we left from the restaurant, both lightly drunk and very happy. We laughed and sang a song that were playing in the restaurant, while we made our way to the parking area, where my chauffeur Andre was waiting for us. As soon as we arrived to the car, I realized that I left my handbag to the restaurant. I told Archie that I'll go to get it, and made my way back. I decided to take a shortcut across the backyard of the restaurant.

When I was walking past green trash cans behind the restaurant, I heard something. It sounded like someone was crying. The sound paused as soon as I stopped and listened to it. I tried to find out where it came from. In a corner of my eye, I saw something moving between two big trash cans. Slowly I walked closer to look what it was. It was dark, but a dim streetlight ten meters away brought some light to the backyard.

There was a girl, curled up in corner of two trash cans. Her long blonde, little curly hair were messy, and she had a little dirty blanket around her. I guessed she was something around my age, maybe little younger. I realized that she was trying to wrap a bandage around her wrist. That seemed to be difficult to her.
"Do you need help?" I asked carefully.

As soon as she heard my voice, she bounced up and backed as far to the corner as she could. She had dropped her blanket, she was wearing a black discolored hoodie and broken dirty jeans, what seemed to be too large to her way too thin body. She was still holding her wrist, and I saw red blood in her hands.

I saw pain in her beautiful green eyes, while she stared at me clearly scared. She had a long scar across her cheek, and dark circles under her eyes. Even though all this, she was beautiful, one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. I wondered what had happened to this girl. Why was she here alone, by the look of it living between the trash cans of a fancy restaurant?

"I can help you with that bandage", I offered taking a step closer. She backed thigh against the green trash can. Her eyes got even wider and now she looked even more scared.
"Go away!" She spitted quietly in a raspy voice. I took a step closer.
"Leave me alone!" She said stronger this time, anger and fear in her voice.
"I just want to help you", I said trying to make her relax. It didn't work.
"I don't need your help. Just please leave me alone." Her voice started to shake. I decided to back off. Slowly I walked away and got my handbag from the restaurant. I walked back to the car, just thinking about the girl.
"What got so long?", Archie whined when I arrived back to the car. I just muttered something for an answer. I couldn't stop thinking about that beautiful, but so scared girl.
