Keith's slick frame slid through galra infested hallways, stealthy as always. Unleneantly Shiro gave the order to prevent combat, they couldnt risk it while a handful of paladins had to enter the facility without armory; It wasn't the most favored decision, but the only entrance was closing in a matter of ticks, and they couldn't lose the software on the ship Keith, Lance, and Pidge was currently on. The only one with weaponry was Keith, and albeit he was a strong fighter he had no chance against an entire fleet even if he wanted to engage. The moment he initiated fighting, every second thereafter Pidge and Lances lives were in vain.Pidge and Lance was currently scurrying somewhere in the ship, attempting to find the data. Keith kept a strong grip on his Bayard. A bead of sweat fell down his temple, its origin not from overly exertion rather from the risk this mission took. The red paladin peeked out from a corner, his eyes scanning over the room in one swift move, calculating like a machine. Four galra soldiers total, two on each side of what looked like a bulk of machinery. Dim purple lights lined the walls, exerting just enough light to spread a few feet. Just enough to give Keith a sense of direction, one he was grateful for. He moved on, running down the hall on silent feet. Crackling of static came in through his headset before Pidges voice rang out. "Find anything?" She asked, a familiar hint of worry stained her voice. After looking thoroughly around the hall and spotting nothing he clicked his own audio on. "Nothing. How big is this place??" They had already been searching for what seemed like hours. Pidge sighed, she seemed agitated herself. "Just keep looking" was all that ran through before a "snap" signified Pidge turned her audio off. Keith did the same, as he did he wiped sweat from his brow. Usually sneaking around for hours at a time was a breeze for Keith, but lately he's spent his nights in the training room or lying awake at night. He kneeled his back against the wall, taking a small break as there weren't any one around, at least not at the moment. He savored it, though he'd savor a hot shower more.
-Lance POV-
Lance hurriedly ran through he walls with Pidge, attempting to find this supposed device Pidge went on about. His feet ached, and the soldiers and rooms seemed endless. Not to mention they had no weapons. Getting caught wasn't an option. His mind drifted back to Keith as it usually did. Even through the mess they were in, he couldn't help but to smile as he imagined his red cheeks and fiery attitude. He wished he were here, but they decided to split up and cover more space. The faster they could get out, the better. Pidge pulled him from his contemplation, stopping mid-sprint at a corner, nearly causing the blue paladin to slam into her. She quickly turned back to Lance, shock and fear in her eyes she put an index finger to her lips as if he was being loud. Lance's confusion quickly faded when he heard synchronized steps pounding through the hall. His breath hitched, and he put a hand over his own mouth instinctively. The marching neared closer, causing Pidge to turn back around and shut her eyes tight. Lance's heart hammered in his chest. He tried not think about what happen of they got caught. Would they use them as bait? Would be die, right here right now without even telling Keith he loved him? Without going back home and feeling the warmth of the sun on his face? He shook his head, as if he could physically rid his pessimistic thoughts. He had to get out of here, along with Keith and Pidge. The Universe counted on them. After a few ticks, he realized the galra soldiers weren't turning. They were going to turn the corner Lance and Pidge were hiding in. As soon as they did, both of them would be noticed. His mind raced for some kind of quick solution. "Run! Run Lance! Go!" His mind screamed at him, but he could only stand there frozen, blinking a few times before Pidge looked at him, now realizing the same thing. He nodded, latching onto her small wrist and began sprinting down the hall. His feet dug into the floor, pushing each step as hard as he could. His heart was beating so hard he thought he might break his ribs. Nearly causing him to trample, loud bangs sounded behind him. They found them. Lance tried to reach Keith, trying not let the shots whizzing dangerously close to his head distract him. After thumbing around a bit, he finnaly found the button and slammed down on it.
-Keith's POV-
A buzz in his headgear jolting him from his thoughts, Keith quickly turned his audio on. He opened his mouth to say something, but didn't get the chance to. "KEI-! -ITH THEY FO-- US! PIDGE! WA-" He heared lance yelling through the Mic along with shots in the background, static constantly interrupting him. Keith jumped up, panicked and confused. "Lance!! Lance Are you ok? LANCE!" he practically screamed the hallway, temporarily forgetting he was supposed to remain quiet. He didn't really care at this point, his only concern was lance and what was going on. The only thing that answered him was static.
