Bleu- a story about friendship

"Help!" I cry jumping out of bed as my world shook, I heard distant screams my window shattered I ducked under my bed, I felt like I was alone "Mama!" I scream there was dead silence, "mama!" I repeated mama ran in blood running down her forehead "Run Anais!" she screams I shake my head "no way! I can't leave you guys!" I cry my tears running down my blood covered cheeks "you must obey me Anais Bisset!" mama snaps

I grab her arm "we can both escape for papa" I sob mama looks up, the roof was looking unstable a humongous rock plummets towards me mama jumps and pushes me into the wall I hear a bloodcurdling scream as the dust clears mama was lying on the ground with rocks, I try to pick up the roof I check mama's pulse no movement

"MAMA!" I scream the walls were collapsing I run out the house falls down like a dying tree my entire family was in there! Mama, Papa and Gaël my recently born little brother.

I see a rock coming towards me

"you must wake up" I hear a voice "w-where am I?" I ask shaking to get up, everything was blurry and out of focus I saw a tan boy with big black eyes he was panting he was covered in cuts his straggly jet black hair was full of mud he spun around and glared at me "what were you thinking?!" he yells in a deep British accent I lower my head "who are you?" he snaps

I gulp, and try to think who am I? "err" I whisper "Err? That's not a name!" he yells a bright red cut sat under his left eye, "who are you?" he repeats I try to think but my mind was blank I clear my throat "um..." I say "I-I don't know" I stutter the boy rolls his eyes "idiot" he snaps he walks over to me and slaps me across the cheek "think!" he snarls I jump back

"hey" I sob rubbing the raw area on my face the boy looked about my age he sat down on a rock and threw sticks into the damp mud I smile trying to ignore the sharp sensation on my lips I lick them blood and dirt was on my tongue bits of rubble made a home out of my hair, "do you live anywhere?" I ask searching around "duh" he rolls his eyes but I think for a moment "wait! How long was I unconscious for?" I scream "you were unconscious for some days I didn't care much but I couldn't leave and you were much too heavy" the boy teases I look at myself "hey! I'm thinner than you" I snap he laughs and stands up "follow" he demands I obey

We walk down what once was a street, many houses had collapsed police were digging people and pets out I saw a ginger cat run by as the RSPCA were trying to save it. I try to think did I ever have a cat? I soldier on thinking about who I was the boy went down on one knee and presented "The Élysée Palace!" he presents I cock my head to the side my blue braid follows "um..." I say looking at the shell of a house it had graffiti all of it and had sent bad vibes down my spine "come on! Don't be shy! Let me, show you to the gang!" he grins I follow there were 5 kids about my age sitting in a circle a girl with purple eyes looks at me "welcome!" she smiles a boy with yellow hair spins around and grins, a girl with pink cheeks smiles even wider, a boy with red eyes sat alone in the corner and a short girl with green eyes ignores me

"the one with the purple eyes is Violette, the yellow haired-boy is Jaune, the pink cheeked girl is Rose, red eye guy is Rouge, and green eye girl is named Verte, all of these people are like you, don't know who they are, and me I'm Noir" he says I look at everyone Violette marches up to me and smiles "blue braid and matching eyes, hmmm Bleu" she grins, Noir laughs "that's your name" he smiles

As night fell, I didn't feel like sleeping I held my legs in my hands I missed my family, but I thought did I even have a family? Or friends?

"can't sleep?" a voice whispers I see Noir he was holding a moldy blanket "we'll get ya' a new one tomorrow" he promises me throwing the blanket I wrap it around my aching body "I never did thank you" I say Noir rolls his eyes "it's fine Bleu, your part of the gang come on! You're not gonna be like this are ya'?" he asks looking out the broken roof "those stars look so familiar" I whisper Noir shrugs "they look all the same to me" he mutters I laugh he looks at me "missing your family?" he asks I nod he scoffs "chill, we'll find them at the Centre tomorrow" he says I raise an eyebrow he smiles at me "they try to find family members it's also where we'll get breakfast" he winks I screw up my face in confusion he rolls his eyes "I'm gonna steal breakky" he yells I laugh and lie down on the hard cement he raises an eyebrow "sure... sleep on the cement like some caveman" he jokes "ha-ha hilarious" I snap through gritted teeth he leads me to this small circle with a small fire and a LARGE broken mattress "girls on the left boys on the right sleep, in the fetal position ok?" he instructs I nod and lie down it smelt of mold and other horrid things but I didn't want to get up

I woke up to voices screaming my name I see Noir and everyone else "come on get up" he demands I jump up "let's get you some clothes" he smirks I nod he runs out Violette takes a seat next to me "hey, you looked comfortable, you are lucky" she laughs I didn't understand what she was saying, it was better than the wooden floor

The gang conduct me through the woods my scars were still aching but I ignored the excruciating pain. I saw what once was Paris, many buildings were fallen. had I lived in one of these houses? I saw children crying over bodies of loved ones and priests directing funerals.

I felt a cold hand land on my bare shoulder "ahhh!" I scream "sorry!" Rose whispers and quickly slinks away, I look at my singlet it was ripped across my stomach "oy! Bleu!" Noir yelled I look at him "stop lolly-gagging will ya'?" he snapped I apologized and soldiered on Rouge walks quickly away from me glaring and mysterious "what's his problem?" I think and roll my eyes. We see an old woman her hair in a tight bun handing out shirts, pants, dresses and shoes I walk up to her "aww Bonjour Mademoiselle! You look so pretty! Such long eyelashes!" she says holding my chin "oh! I'm just here for some clothes-" Noir slips in next to me "only blue thanks" he interrupts I glare at him

"what? It's your colour!" he replies flatly I smile slightly.

The lady passes me some satin blue dresses and a blue shirt that says 'BONJOUR, BONJOUR, BONJOUR'

As we returned to the Élysée Palace I saw a man he looked familiar playing some instruments and singing a depressing song called 'Oh De Love'  he had a tear in the corner of his eye I dug my hands into my pockets I had some money i looked at the coins 'I'm not stupid I know what cash is... I think passing him some money he looks at me "oh! Merci! Merci!" he cheers and dances around me he bursts into tears of happiness and runs around the fallen city cheering Noir taps his foot impatiently "hurry it up"

Violette starts dancing  around "be a kid Noir!" he gasps "V-Violette! Stop!" he yells she halts "T-That l-looks f-familiar"
