It was already well into the night by the time I found some shelter. It was a large distance away from the plane wreck and was quite the sight to see. Shattered windows with glass missing, splintered, wooden walls and a roof devoured by masses of dark, green moss and snow. The house was mainly made of wood with an occasional glass window and some concrete stairs leading up to the door on one side of the house. It's chimney was still in condition suggesting being well used but the appearance of the rest of the crumbling house dismissed that idea. Taking in its exterior, I guessed that it would have been a very comfortable home before all the weather and lack of use took its toll on the place. I sighed. Having no other choice, I decided it will have to do for the night.

I made to move towards the house but I hesitated as the hairs on the back of my neck rose swiftly. I glanced behind me. No one was there but a feeling of unease remained within me. When I swiftly twisted back around to focus on the house, my eyes caught a slight movement behind some rotten curtains. What ever moved seemed to be aware of my presence.

One before the other, I willed my shaking legs to move towards the ravaged house. Upon reaching what I assumed to be the front door(I was suprised it wasn't destroyed in some way), I brought my hand up. I knocked twice.

Silence.

I knocked again.

More silence...

I knocked another 4 times before I decided it was empty and therefore safe to open the door. Moonlight spilled into the darkness of the hallway and my lean black shadow stretched out across the floor. I spoke up, still cautious about the presence of something or someone. "Hello?" I squeaked with my face contorted from fear and curiosity. My heart hammered against my chest causing me to clench the fabrics of my Gucci tee in an attempt to block out the sound to no avail. After hearing no reply, I braved a few strides before hearing a cat-like hiss radiating off the maroon walls. My breathing quickened as my eyes rapidly scanned the space around me while closing my shoulders into myself as a way of comfort.

scrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech.

I stumbled back a few steps and crashed into the door at the sound of nails scraping across the walls. It was soon followed by a sinister laugh, which was so wheezy, it sent shivers crawling down the length of my spine. I fumbled to grab the handle of the door as the laugh grew closer. Immediately after getting a grasp of the handle I swung open the door, turned around and bolted into the night.

I didn't stop running, even after the house was just a speck in the distance, I kept running. The sounds. They still played in my head. They were cruel, torturous vibrations that still ran their claws around my heart and made it shiver under their control. I continued running with my mind going out of control.

Soon Sam's grave came into view, triggering memories and immediately tears filled in my eyes. I wrapped my arms around myself as the tears turned into hear-wrenching sobs. Thoughts of my friends and family filled my head and a familiar feeling of longing claimed its place in my heart. Now I knew how it was to be completely alone without anyone to turn to. I was on my own in this. No one knows where I am or where I was supposed to be. I was the only one who survived the crash and could be anywhere in the large pacific ocean. I could even be on an uncharted island hidden from the world's knowledge. There is no one else here to help me. No one except the person in the house.

I sat down in front of the white flowers on Sam's grave and pondered about the house and the being inside it. The laugh, although terrifying, didn't sound inhumane but instead like the voice of... a girl. This could mean, that there were other people on the island. My tears stopped quickly. I used the sleeves of my shirt to dry my face the salty streams of slowly drying tears. I might have a way off this island. Hope flowered within me as a the thought of getting home filled my head.

With a new determination, I planned my next steps. I first decided to head to the plane because there must be some emergency rations stored somewhere that I could eat to appease my hunger. After that, I was going back to that house.

...🌑...

Slowly walking while chewing on the energy bars from the plane, I entered the forest once again. It was getting colder and colder as the night continued and soon my thin clothes would not be able to help me. I walked a bit faster in the direction of the house but soon stopped. What if whoever is in the house isn't a girl. I could have been mistaken as my judgment was probably clouded by the fear in that moment. I brushed my hair away from from my eyes in frustration with my lips pursed in a line. This isn't the time to hesitate. I needed to find a sheltered, dry place for the night, away from the snow and the ever-growing chill of the night.

The moon rose higher in the night sky as I got closer to the house. My hands shook with anticipation and nerves as I let my mind wonder through all the possible outcomes of my uncertain speculation. The being in the house could be a girl who was just trying to scare me away or, if I let myself get carried away with my weird thoughts, a cannibal who impersonated a girl's laugh to lure me in but failed as it came out creepy instead of attractive. I shook my head to stop the ideas from getting any weirder. Being alone really does things to your mind.

...🌑...

Before I knew it, I was in front of the undamaged door once again with my hand held in front of me in a fist ready to knock. I knocked the door slowly. My heartbeat increases gradually as the period of time after I knocked increases, allowing a small ball of fear to grow as my mind wanders again.

The fear grows even more when the sound of the door being unlocked enters my ears and a gap slowly forms between the walls of the house and the door. The door is opening! I panicked. What if it really is a cannibal wanting to eat me or a psycho ready to cut me open or a-

My thoughts were cut short as the door swung wide open. My eyes squeezed shut with terror as I waited for my death. Hearing no noise and feeling no movement, I cautiously opened my eyes and slowly looked up. Pale elegant feet, long, slender legs covered with black leggings, thin waist, silk black tank top, broad shoulders, small neck, dark red lips frozen in a frown, deep midnight red eyes, sleek and shiny, black hair.

My eyes snapped wide open in shock. I was right. It was a girl. A really unique one at that. With pale skin, broad shoulders, deep, red lips and enticing, red eyes. Her eyes met mine. They held no emotion as they stared deeply into mine, searching for something. Seeing as I was clearly not speaking, she opened her mouth to speak. Her words filled with harshness.

"What do you want?"
