Spreading The News

Zoe's POV

As soon as me and Pin walk out of Raven's stable, Becky, Jade, and Gabby immediately rush to my side and start dragging me away from Pin and towards the horses. I laugh, and as they drag me away I mouth to Pin, 'I'll text you.' Once we are out of earshot they all start launching questions at me,
"What happened?"
" did you guys kiss? "
"Are you boyfriend and girlfriend?"
" Wait, I know! " says Becky, "He asked you to marry him!"
" Okay, slow down guys! " I say laughing at how excited they are. "First of all, Becky, I am only sixteen, I am not old enough for marriage!"
" Oh yeah. " Becky replies, "But what happened!"
" Well, he told me that he is leaving to travel next month, " I say, waiting to tell them the big news because I know that they are going to freak out.
"And what happened next? You look way to happy to have been told that news!" Gabby says.
" Um... well, I kind of told him that I love him, and then he said he loves be back. " I say. They all start squealing, just like I knew they would. I know that as soon as I tell them we kissed I will not be able to stand it anymore.
"And?" Jade asks quickly,
" And then we kissed, and now we are boyfriend and girlfriend. " I reply cautiously, preparing for an explosion of excitement from them. And, just as I had anticipated, they all start jumping around like hyper rabbits and squealing.
"OKAY, GUYS!" I have yell over all of their squealing, " It's not that big of a deal! Calm down! " I say laughing at how excited they are getting at this information, they definitely did not act like this when I got together with Marcus!
"How can you say this is not a big deal!" Becky replies in disbelief, " This is a huge deal and you know it! "
"Okay, I admit it, it is pretty exciting. But why don't we head back to Holloway, I promised my mom I would be home by noon." We mount the horses and ride back to Holloway, and I think about how my life will be like now that Pin is my boyfriend. Once we get there, I untack Raven, put him back in his stable, and head back to Gramps' house. When I walk inside I see that my mom is inside making lunch, when she sees me she asks,
"Hey sweetie, how was your morning?"
" Oh, good, you know, Beck, Jade, Gabby and I all rode up to Bright Fields to see how the construction is going so far, oh, and I have a boyfriend now. " I say this last part quickly, because I have no idea how my mom will react to this, She isn't like my friends, I can't anticipate how she will react. When I say this, at first she looks shocked, and then happy. She comes up to me and hugs me,
"That is so great! I am so happy for you! Who is it? Wait, it's Pin isn't it!" I nod my head sheepishly, I had not thought that she would have this reaction! I quickly eat lunch and head up to my room. I grab my phone and see a text from Pin

Pin: Hey, do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow?
Zoe: Yes, of course!
Meet me at Holloway tomorrow at 9
I'll be there! What do you have planned?
You'll see! It's a surprise!
I can't wait! I'll see you later, love you! 😘
Love you too! ❤

I take a quick shower and change my clothes before heading over to Holloway to do some training with Raven. The walk seems really quick compared to this morning, probably because I am thinking about my date with Pin tomorrow. When I get to the stables I see Pin practicing jumps in the paddock, I smile and get Raven ready. We spend the afternoon training with everyone else. Marcus is a really great trainer, and me and Raven are getting better every day. But today I am distracted, I can't stop thinking about how happy I am now that I am with Pin, and I can't help myself from looking in his direction every few minutes.
"Focus Zoe!" Marcus says. I blush as I realize that me and Raven have drifted of to the left of the jump because I was busy watching Pin do his training.
" Sorry! " I reply.
"What's going on Zoe? You've been unfocused all day," Marcus asks me.
" I'm just thinking, sorry. "
"About what?" He asks
" Umm... " I don't want to tell Marcus the truth because I can tell that he still likes me even though we broke up. But I know that I need to tell him, there is no use in keeping it a secret.
"Well, it is just that me and Pin are now officially together!" I say brightly with a huge smile on my face. Whatever Marcus was expecting, it definitely wasn't this. He nodded, but all the same looked jealous and sad. I don't want to hurt Marcus, but I love Pin, and this is what makes me happy. So if Marcus can't accept that, it is his problem. We get back to training, and once we have finished I lead Raven to his stall and begin to untack him, when I hear a knock on the door,
"Come in!" I say, and Pin walks in.
" Hey, Zoe! " He says brightly,
"Hi Pin! How was training?"
" Great! I'll see you tomorrow bright and early! " I smile and reply,
" I can't wait! " I head home, eat dinner, and get ready for bed. I set my alarm for 7 am tomorrow so I will have plenty of time to get ready for my date tomorrow. I fall asleep thinking about how perfect tomorrow is going to be.

Pin's POV

As me and Zoe leave Raven's stall, the girls all rush over to Zoe's side and begin pulling her away. I see her mouth 'I'll text you' before she allows them to pull her away. I decide to head back home and get some lunch before I go to Holloway and begin my training for the day. It takes about 20 minutes to ride Elvis back to my house, but it feels a lot shorter. This is probably because I am thinking about how perfect this month with Zoe is going to be before I leave. When I get home I find my dad making us some sandwiches for lunch. He asks me how my morning went and I respond a little hesitantly.
"Well, I went to Bright Fields to make sure that the construction started smoothly, and, oh yeah, I have a girlfriend." I held my breath waiting for a response. I know that at one point he didn't want me to be with Zoe because he was afraid she would break my heart just like her mom broke his heart when they were kids. But I love Zoe with all of my heart, and now I am sure that she loves me too. There is no way I am going to stay away from her now that I know that. My dad surprises me with his reaction, he comes up to me and pulls me into a hug. My dad almost never hugs me, so I am very happy with this response, it is much better than what I had expected.
" Let me guess, it's Zoe, isn't it. " He says it not as a question, but as a statement. I nod and then tell him that I have to get to Holloway soon for training. I want to train as much as I can before I leave for my travels, when I won't be able to ride for a while. Once I had found out that I was the duke, and had bought Bright Fields, I quit the Holloway team and transferred back to Bright Fields. I definitely like being with team Bright Fields more than Holloway, especially since I actually get to ride for Bright Fields now. Everyone is much nicer than at Holloway, and I think that everyone is happy that I am back, especially Zoe. Even Mia is happy, but I think that is only because now she knows how good a rider I am, and that she thinks I will be a big help in winning competitions. I go up to my room to get ready for an afternoon of training and send a text to Zoe

Pin: Hey, do you want to go on a date with me tomorrow?
Zoe: Yes, of course!
Meet me at Holloway tomorrow at 9
I'll be there! What do you have planned?
You'll see! It's a surprise!
I can't wait! I'll see you later, love you! 😘

I leave the house and head to Holloway. Once I reach the stables, I feed Elvis some mints, tack him up, and lead him out to the paddock where Marcus is there, waiting for everyone to arrive so training can start. I mount Elvis and start to practice the jumps, Marcus is giving me pointers, but it is kind of starting to annoy me. I think that he is jealous of me and Zoe. He doesn't know that we are dating yet, but he definitely know there is something going on between us. Once Zoe arrives, Marcus goes over to give her some pointers and I continue to train. After training, I go to Raven's stall and knock on the door,
"Come in!" Zoe says and I walk into the stall to see her untacking Raven and getting ready to head home.
" Hey Zoe! " I say, with a huge smile on my face as I think of what I have planned for us tomorrow.
"Hi Pin! How was training?" She asks me, with an equally large grin on her face.
" Great! I'll see you tomorrow bright and early! " I say, so happy that she agreed to go on a date with me.
"I can't wait!" Zoe has a look of pure happiness on her face, and I can't help thinking about how beautiful she is. I'm glad to see that she is as excited about our date tomorrow as I am. I ride Elvis back home and tend to the injured horse. Then I have a quick dinner, shower, and get ready for bed. I smile to myself as I drift off to sleep, thinking about how perfect tomorrow is going to be.
