Sweet Creature
Chapter 4
As soon as Taliyah walked close enough to the Lockwood mansion she heard the sound of music and people. It was so different than what she expected it to be, she didn't know how to imagine it but it certainly wasn't like this.
She looked around slowly noticing a couple of hybrids standing like guards watching everyone, so she found the best way in and walked to the end of the house where the backyard was. As soon as she walked there she saw Niklaus on the stage and her heart stopped for a second, she wanted to run to him, embrace him, but she knew she couldn't. It would ruin the plan and she knew he wasn't the same person, she could see it, he had changed, she just didn't know how much.
While she stood hidden by the shadows of the night, with a drink in her hand she had compelled some poor soul for, she stared ahead but her mind was some place elsewhere, reminiscing about some older times, the last time she saw them. The only hope she had was that he had maybe somehow forgiven her for what she has done.
"Niklaus wait!" Taliyah yelled as she tried to reach him, while she stumbled with the long dress she wore.
"You, stay away!" Niklaus yelled back.
"No, I need you to listen to me"
"What is there to say, how could you?! I have been searching for five hundred years, five hundred! And it escaped my grasp just like that, and you let her escape, no you didn't just let her, you helped her!" He yelled and turned around to face her, but before he could get to her Elijah appeared, stopping him.
"Brother stop this" Elijah said in a calm voice.
"Stop this?! How can you defend her, you don't even love her!"
"Niklaus stop this now" Elijah yelled causing Taliyah to jump since the older brother wasn't prone to raising his voice in such matter.
"Niklaus, listen to me" Taliyah started once again trying to get to him, "What is done cannot be undone, that girl already chose her fate, she became like us, she got scared, yes I helped her, but she was of no use to you any longer, another will come Niklaus, you will have your chance again, don't chase her, if you want to blame someone blame me"
"Oh I am blaming you, you were supposed to be my friend, to help me, and then you betray me like this, and not just you but also those two good for nothing vampires! I do not wish to see you ever again" He screamed outraged.
Taliyah went to say something but she was stopped by a crash downstairs, her senses tingled, hair on the back of her neck rose and she froze for a second, she knew the voice that barked orders, the voice that made them run away with fear. She looked at the two brothers before her and they shared a look, they had to think of something to do and fast.
"Run" Taliyah said and they nodded going for the window, but once they noticed her staying in place unmoving they stopped.
"What are you doing?" Elijah asked hurriedly as he made the move to reach her but she stopped him with her hand.
"You two need to run, he cannot get you, I'll stay and make a distraction but you have to run now" She said looking them both in the eyes.
"We cannot leave you here, I cannot leave you here" Elijah said stepping up to her finally.
She sighed, her voice trembling, "You need to Eli, I will catch up, just go please" She whispered as he rested his forehead against hers his eyes begging her, "Go now, please, do not worry, I will see you again husband" She said with a small hint of teasing in her voice as she tried to lighten up this whole ordeal.
