With a flash Gabriel is standing next to me with a smug smirk on his face.
"Well hello sweetheart, long time no see. You said something about needing somewhere to stay." I breathe in and start walking, I can hear Gabriel behind me. "Rude, don't forget you called me."
"Look Gabriel I'm not in the mood. Trust me when I say I wouldn't be doing this unless I absolutely had to, if you are here just to tell me no tell me now so that I can make my way to the British hunters base." I stop walking when we are a good distance away from the boys. Gabriel stares at me in confusion."Something bad happened, didn't it?" He asks sincerely.
"Let's just say things got heated between Dean and I and now I have to ditch Sam or risk hurting his brother." Gabriel grits his teeth and balls his fist.
"Dean has always been a hot head." He says through gritted teeth, I shake my head.
"I made the death threat Gabe. He just, he hit a nerve and I lost it. I know very few people that would be able to stop me if I went into a full blown rage. You, Loki and probably Lucifer." Gabriel nods."So it's either me or the male trickster and you chose me. How sweet."
"Don't flatter yourself, this is only because I know what Loki is like and believe it or not I really care about Sam." Gabriel laughs.
"That's a first." I sense a slight twinge of jealousy in his tone but he covers it up quickly. "I can see it." He says sadly, I walk over and grab his arm.
"I care about you too but you just up and left me. I'm not willing to put my heart on the line again when you could just do it all over again. I heard from hunters all around that the first trickster god had been killed, but everyone was accounted for. I thought I had lost you, and to hunters never-the-less. I couldn't understand how they overpowered you even after they didn't know what you were." Gabriel looks down at me and grabs my hand, placing my blade into it.
"I'm sorry." He says as we teleport to his new hideout. I stand next to the couch and survey my surroundings. "I still think it would be safer if you let me look after you in heaven.""You know I don't belong there Gabe, I am a monster. When I die I stay dead and go to purgatory. We both know that that is how life was intended to go. No good can come from bringing me back when I am supposed to be dead." Gabriel looks at me with sad eyes but nods never-the-less.
"So how long do you plan on staying?"
"I'm not sure, hopefully just until I can get a new job and support myself."
"You can stay as long as you need to." Gabriel says as he leads me towards one of the rooms. "This is your room, I know it isn't much but I haven't had this place that long. I only got most of the furniture a few days ago." He swings the door open and it lives up to what I expected from a new house. There is a bed and a bed side table along with a ensuite and a wardrobe. Nothing too flashy, not that there is any need."Well for one, we both know that I won't be using this room very often and two, it's fine, you literally just bought this place last week. Trust me, I do not have plans to stay here for too long." I take a brief stroll through the room and then return to Gabriel. "Where exactly are we?"
"We're in Nebraska, Lincoln to be precise.""So we're roughly 120 miles from the boys bunker?" Gabriel stares at me.
"I mean I don't know exactly." I smile and move towards the kitchen.
"I need to keep an eye on them. Make sure no one is coming after me and happens to find them instead. I need to be as close as possible so I don't burn myself out just trying to get to them."
"So you're going to be job searching and eventually house hunting in Kansas?" I nod and proceed to grab some bread and make myself a sandwich. "You want one?" I ask Gabriel over my shoulder.
