A/N: Hey, guys, miss me? Sorry I haven't existed lately. I've just sort of lost inspiration. You might already know that from my One-Shots book, but I promise I'm not cutting this one off like that! Alrighty, then... I should probably write this chapter now.
Trigger warnings: Abuse, Vulgar language

Their lips met.It was only a peck, really, just about the most awkward thing they could've done, and not at all a beautiful, movie-worthy first kiss. But it was perfect.
They were both a deep pink (honestly tho they were blushing half the time anyway) and both grinning like idiots when they pulled back.
"Alright, now for Supernatural," Virgil laughed.
"Yeah," Roman answered. They weren't really cuddling, or even holding hands, but they were now sitting considerably closer together.
-
Remy shut the front door behind him and slid to the ground just outside his house, his back to the door. He stared at the sky.
"Why did I have to get stuck with such sucky parents?" he asked the universe. There was a small cut just above his ear from where he'd just been assaulted with a glass bottle. Even his dad seemed to realize he'd crossed a line and just walked away, leaving Remy on his own.
He ignored the small amount of blood trickling behind his ear and just stood up and walked around the neighborhood aimlessly. It wasn't long before he spotted Deceit and Vicky in deep conversation.
"...I'm not all that smart, you know, it's a bit unfair to leave this all up to me..." he heard Deceit say to Vicky.
"Trust me, I know. But it's fun to watch you struggle," she replied in a sickly-sweet voice.
"I mean, the worst thing I can think of is sneak-attacking him or something, but he's got Logan and Virgil, and I doubt I could get close enough to do anything..." Remy sighed. So Roman was clearly having problems with De and Vicky, who obviously wanted to do something bad to him. If they really want to make him hurt, force him to move into my place. It sucks.
He refrained from saying this aloud. He trusted Logan and Patton, that was why he'd talked to them. He wasn't about to say anything to either of these two. However, he took care to keep his distance and hide the cut above his ear, to no avail. Vicky spotted him and pointed him out. Instinctively, he lowered his head and walked faster, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
"Isn't that the kid who you sometimes sit next to? He's Roman's friend, right?" she asked Deceit, who looked at Remy, who stood frozen in his tracks, half scared and half curious as to what Deceit would say.
"I... um... I don't know who he is. We should just leave him out of this," he muttered.
"I could swear I've seen you sit next to him on the bus," she retorted, her voice edged with hostility.
"Just once or twice. And he just sleeps the whole time. He doesn't have anything to do with this. Leave the kid alone," De insisted, moving on quickly.
Remy smiled to himself and walked on.
-
It turned out that his little moment of peace outside either couldn't or simply wouldn't last all too long.
As soon as he stepped in through the back door so as to cause the smallest disturbance, he heard his father yell, "Where the hell were you, you ungrateful little shit?"
"I just... I..." Remy's voice failed him. He sighed and hung his head and just waited for his dad to come in and start beating the shit out of him again.
"Answer me when I ask you a question," he growled, suddenly much closer than he'd been a moment ago.
Their eyes met, Remy's wide with the fear that usually filled them nowadays. "I... I just went out for a w-walk," he stuttered, one hand absentmindedly reaching up to touch the unhealed cut just above his ear.
"Yeah? And who said you could leave?"
"You n-never stopped me. Sir," he added hurriedly.
"So now you're blaming me for your stupidity?" he continued on, one hand grabbing Remy's wrist to keep him from running away now.
"That's not what I meant to imply, sir," Remy said quickly, looking down. "It's just that I wasn't aware that I wasn't allowed to leave since you usually let me go whenever I want to. Unless you're... you know..." he twiddled his thumbs nervously and met his father's eyes again. "...beating the shit out of me."
His dad sighed and shoved him back so he fell, but besides that he didn't do anything. "I'm letting you off easy this time, punk. Not for any reason besides you being so pathetic I couldn't help but feel sorry for you."
"Thank you, sir," Remy said immediately, scrambling off the floor and up to his room. He needed to get his homework done if he wanted a chance at sleeping tonight. For whatever reason, he wasn't hungry for dinner.
-
"Bye, Dad. And Dad," Patton laughed as he set off for the bus stop.
He was surprised, however, to see Remy and Logan both standing at his driveway. He was pretty sure they were there for different reasons, though.
"Hey, Lo! Hi, Remy!" he said cheerfully, wondering in the back of his mind how he was supposed to carry on a conversation between the two of them about whatever they wanted to talk about.
"Hey, Patton," they replied simultaneously.
"So what brings you guys to my driveway?" he asked curiously.
"I wanted to walk with you," Logan said in a rather straightforward manner.
"I just didn't want to walk alone," Remy admitted in a small voice. "You can both ignore me, though. I won't get in your business."
"Um... alright," Patton said. "Well... let's go, I guess."
As they started walking down the road (it wasn't all that far to the bus stop. In fact, Patton was fairly sure that Logan's house was in the opposite direction as his own from the stop, so the detour to see him was unnecessary) they started to talk about who-knows-what and Logan mentioned the fact that Virgil went to Roman's house after school.
"Yeah, I noticed that. Virgil's house is in my direction," Patton answered. "I wonder what those two were up to," he giggled mischievously.
"I'm sure it was purely innocent," Logan replied, giving him a look.
"You'll be able to tell, anyway. When we see them," Remy smirked. They stopped when they got to the stop (incredible, I know).
Deceit showed up about half a minute later. Patton was sure he noticed Remy exchange a look with him, something like a thanks-you're-welcome thing. He couldn't help but wonder what that was about.
Virgil and Roman showed up together, too. Virgil was wearing something of Roman's; it was still on the darker side, but much too colorful for it to be something that Virgil would actually own; a large, dark gray hoodie, black ripped jeans, and a pastel pink t-shirt.
"And now we know what happened," Remy laughed. Virgil blushed.
"Just because I slept over doesn't mean anything happened," he said hotly.
"Were you originally planning on staying the night?" Logan asked out of the blue.
"What kind of question is that?" Roman grumbled.
"Princey has a point," Deceit said from the corner, grinning. "That is a random question."
Roman raised an eyebrow. Did Deceit just... agree with him?
"Well... no, I wasn't planning on it, that's why I'm wearing his clothes," Virgil grumbled. "And we didn't do anything!" he snapped at Remy and De, who were both smirking at him.
"Whatever, just ignore them," Roman muttered, taking Virgil's hand and straightening his hoodie.
"You two are gonna be that annoying couple that just flaunts what they got, aren't you?" Remy sighed.
"I think they're cute," Patton replied, smiling. "Oh, look, there's the bus."
