"Thank you" Liam called into the audience, his voice pained. "For everything you guys have done for us" he added as the boys watched him nervously fighting back the tears that have randomly spilled at different parts during the concert. "We are so thankful for everything you guys have done for us, we have the best fans in the whole wide world and we hope you never forget about us because we will never forget about you" said Niall in that adorable Irish accent that everyone was going to miss so very much.
The whole crowd seemed to stop their screaming as Louis lost his usually normal and strong posture as he stepped out into the lights staring out into the crowd that he would never see again. "You've been with us every step of the way and we honestly can't thank you guys enough, you're absolutely incredible" he said as he stared out into the cameras and phones that were live streaming all of this so fans all over the world could capture the boys last moments on stage together.
"We hope you never forget all the moments that you've expeirenced and all the friends you have made while being here and supporting us and pushing us to move on and do everything we could for all of you" said Harry in that deep and thick accent that would make every girl weak in her knees.
"You mad our job not feel like one, you were like our family and we hope you felt the same way" said zayn as a single tear rolled down his cheek and fell onto the stage below him. "You stayed with us through the rough times and loved us with all your heart and it was so good to know that" he added as the rest of the boys nodded in response.
"All the tweets and notes and comments on social media or when we would meet you guys just made us so happy and feel so good and we are sad to see that possibly come to an end and we can only hope that you never blame us for any of this or be mad at us because we will always love you and think about all of you every single day" said Harry as he also started crying.
Liam nodded and raised the microphone again. "We just have so much going on and since we are only offered a five year contract we couldn't sign this one with all the things going on. Zayn and Perrie's baby, Liam and Sophia's wedding, Louis and Eleanor's wedding, and another five years of not seeing our family or being where we grew up would simply be too hard." Said Liam as he sighed softly, hoping that no fans would be mad at them for what was happening.
Niall stepped forward once again as he admired the 1000's of fans before him that would never be gathered in the same place ever again for them, which killed him. "The boys and I have talked about this moment for years and years but we never thought it would come this fast. It all went by in a flash, but it was hands down the best and will always be the best years of our lives and we hope you know that." He said.
"One day you will all be married to another man which you once would hope would be one of us and you will have beautiful children and grand children and so on of your own and you won't remember us any more and we understand that. But there won't be one day in our lives when we don't go back and replay all of the memories in our minds and all the shows and interviews and all the laughs we had with all of you guys and just with each other and we will surely miss it with all of our hearts, but we will be moved on. eventually we will be able to walk down the street with our own family without a crowd of 100s of people pushing to be with us or a group of paparazzi screaming rude comments, and we don't know whether to be upset or excited for that." Said Harry.
"It's so hard to leave all of you, but we knew it would come some day and it's finally here" said Liam.
"We hope YOU guys never forget the times that everyone believed in Larry or when everyone thought I leaked Steal My Girl. When what makes you beautiful was played on the radio for the first time.." Liam trailed off as the rest of the boys jumped in at different times naming a bunch of different fun times that happened either on line or on the news or at shows. A few smiles or laughs were added after a memory, but were soon replaced by a frown and tears.
"We don't have much time" zayn reminded the boys as they all nodded. The boys stared at each other for a while as tears streamed down their faces. They had been together almost non stop for over five years and now it was time to say goodbye. of course they would always be mates and hang out with each other and hang out as much as they could, but it just wouldn't be the same. They fought, laughed, cried, played, sang, and danced together for years and now not anymore. They joined the X factor as just teenagers hoping to make it through and just get their name out there, but they never expected any of the things to happen that did, and now all those good times were coming to an end, but they would never be forgotten. They all leaned in and hugged each other in the famous group hug that they would give at the end of every concert.
This was their last performance as One Direction. This was their last time on stage together. After what seemed like forever they finally let go of each other and stared out into the crowd smiling through the tears.
There was not one dry eye in the crowd. Everyone was watching and they felt exactly what they were going through, even the moms were upset seeing all of these girls say goodbye to their main source of happiness. All of the girls that had stayed alive because of their music and their times together were now asking theirselves how they were gonna hang on any longer.
Everyone stopped talking. No screaming. No loud sobs. You could hear a pin drop in that one arena. All of the boys looked at each other through the tears and then slowly raised the microphone to their lips and forced a smile. "Bye, we were One Direction" they all said in unison as they took in every last moment and the adrenaline for, standing up here on stage with all of the girls and boys eyes on them.
Harry couldn't take it. He blew one last kiss and took off his famous bandana before throwing it into the crowd and walking off the stage. The girls he threw it to didn't even fight. A girl caught it and that was it. Nobody else seemed to notice or care. Harry turned his back on all his fans, girls, and his four band mates. His four brothers. His family. Right when he walked off Louise who was watching the whole thing ran over to comfort but he just walked off and into his dressing room to be alone. "I love you thank you" said Liam softly as he walked off the stage, followed by zayn, and Niall which left Louis sitting on a silent guitar amp as the lights dimmed and the screen slowly lit up. The acoustic and just the music of you and I started playing quietly in the back as the 16 year old Harry Styles popped up on to the screen.
The screen suddenly started to show their X factor auditions with a black and white effect as people around the stadium burst into sobs at the memories of their boys before they were who they were now, and had no idea they would make it as far as they did. After the boys auditions were over different videos started playing in the same black and white filter.
Boot camp, them recording up all night, what makes you beautiful being played on the radio for the first time, the up all night tour, the take me home tour, where we are tour, interviews, game shows, talk shows, music videos, 1d day, and more. Just 30 second videos or clips from each one of those events kept playing for about ten minutes before the screen turned off.
"So this is it" said Louis to the crowd since he sat there just to watch the small video some of the crew put together a few days ago as tears streamed down his face. He boys hugged backstage for what seemed like forever, unable to let eachother go, not wanting to forget all the memories over the past few years that made their life better and who they are today.
Louis slowly looked up as he raised the microphone to his mouth and wiped a tear. "Forever young..." He sang as he looked around the crowd. The beautiful crowd of the girls that have kept him strong and confident for years. "I wanna be, forever young"
