summary: Ashton and Luke are step brothers. Luke's dad has been dating Ashton's mother for awhile now and recently they have moved in together. Ashton has been openly angry about the whole situation since the beginning. What he doesn't want to admit to his mom is that he doesn't hate his step brother, Luke, but in fact he may even love him...

Ashton trotted down the stairs, slipping into the living room and flopped down on the couch beside Luke. He didn't think twice about snatching the controller out of Luke's hand. Luke was use to it. If his dad or Ashton's mom were anywhere near them he knew to expect Ashton in a bad mood.

Ashton's mom and Luke's dad had been dating now for over a year. Actually it was coming up on two years. They had met a few summers back when Ashton's mom decided to take her kids out on a cruise to have an actual family vacation. It just happened that on the same cruise ship was Luke's dad and a few of his friends. They had won tickets for the cruise over a radio show and decided to go as friends.

Don't get me wrong, Ashton was extremely happy for his mom. She had been single for far too long and Luke's dad seemed very nice. Ashton might have even helped them get together a bit.

It wasn't until Ashton had met Luke and their parents had gotten more intimate that Ashton regretted everything. Yes, at first Ashton had hated Luke. Luke was a year younger than Ashton and he got all the attention. He had long legs and was tall as hell, a gorgeous smile that could woo over all the girls, not to mention his new lip piercing.

Ashton hated Luke. He hated how he had everything going for him but was far too shy to do anything about it. As much as he hated Luke for being shy, he also loved it. He loved it because that meant Luke wasn't cocky, he wouldn't be flaunting everything around, and he wouldn't be bringing girls home. That is if Luke liked girls.

It didn't take long for Ashton to figure out Luke was gay. I mean it wasn't too hard considering Ashton himself was gay so he knew all the ins and outs of that.

But let's just say Luke wasn't very... subtle.

Soon after Ashton and Luke's parents had moved in together Ashton had his best friend Michael over. They were playing video games when Luke had walked in. He sat quietly, watching as they played. No, literally watching, staring at Michael, looking him up and down, licking his lips. It was a good thing Michael was oblivious...

The next day Ashton confronted Luke. He did it when they were getting dressed for school in the room they shared. Sharing a room was supposed to be temporary until they could find a bigger house. That was six months ago and no one had any intentions on making that change.

Of course Ashton was blunt about it, making Luke shrivel up inside. But once Luke was thrown down onto the bed, his lips and hands occupied by Ashton's body and mouth, he had forgotten how shy he was supposed to be.

That's when Ashton knew he didn't hate Luke. There was something else, some other feelings towards Luke that he couldn't quite put his finger on. These feelings confused the hell out of Ashton so no matter how he acted when he was alone with Luke, it was always the complete opposite of how he acted when one of their parents was in the room.

Which is exactly why Ashton was being a dick and taking control of the Xbox. This was all part of the game Ashton was playing in order to make him feel better about being sexually attracted to his step brother.

"Ash, would you stop being a bully and go wash up for dinner. You too Luke." Ashton's mother called from kitchen.

Ashton paused the game and turned so he could talk to his mom, "I was planning on going to Michael's tonight."
