Mr. Corren opened the door. We all stood frozen staring at the tall man who stood in front of us.
"You girls are in detention! After school, 3 o'clock, my office for the rest of the week." he confiscated my nail polish and pushed Katie's legs off the desk and gave her a mean look and walked to the front of the classroom mumbling to himself quietly.
I gave Katie a grin and she gave me a sign saying 'do my nails at lunch alright?' i nodded and pretended to start reading a book.
Me and Katie have been friends...well...forever! We've known eachother since the times when bouncing a bunch of dolls about and making them talk was considered fun. That's one way you could put it.
Although Katie is the popular one. All the boys like her and all the popular kids want to hang out with her and to be honest, I've always been a bit jealous of her. Okay, a lot jealous. But she refuses to hang out with all the popular kids because she says that I'm way more important to her than them which always makes me feel so good about myself.
But then there's me. I have straight, brown hair that goes just passed my shoulders, although I normally have it tied up in a messy high ponytail. Unlike Katie, who always shows off her long flowing hair that runs down her back almost reaching her hips.
Me and Katie eased through junior school together and now we were finally in high school. We had so much planned for this year and so much to look forward to but now wasn't one of our brihgtest moments. Now we had to sit in mr. Corren's class while he talked about the 'interesting' life if the bug.
I could have sworn I had fallen asleep but was woken up by a piece of crumpled up paper that landed perfectly, in the middle of my desk. I read the note carefully. My mouth dropped open. I froze.
Oh. My. God.
