Ayla's POV
"Mason, please." Lela spoke and I turned to see her following behind Mason towards the front door.
"I'm sorry, baby, but I can't. I have some work to finish." Mason replied and I looked away when he kissed her.
The front door opened and closed, indicating that Mason had just left. Lela came to sit beside me with her arms crossed, sighing heavily.
"Everything okay?" I asked, looking up from the book I stole from Cole's office. He has a mini library in there that I like to steal books from.
"I have a doctor appointment in...like twenty minutes and I need someone to go grocery shopping for dinner, but everyone is busy." She said with a slight frown on her lips.
"How about the maids? I'm sure Becca wouldn't mind going." I suggested and she let out a short sigh.
"The maids aren't working today." She mumbled and we stayed in silence for a while. Suddenly, Lela's face lit up and she smiled as she turned to me. "Will you go?"
"Me?" I questioned, shocked. She's willing to let me go out alone?
"Just don't tell the others I let you out alone." She said, checking the time on her phone. "I have to get going for my appointment. Will you go?"
"I mean....sure." I muttered and she gave my cheek a hard kiss before standing up.
"You're a lifesaver." She replied, smiling as she went over to the table near the front door.
I just sat there, not believing that they're actually going to let me out alone. She threw me the car keys and I caught them before it could hit me in the face.
"The cars all have trackers on them, so don't try anything." Lela said, giving me a look. "There's a list of everything we need in the kitchen and some money. Come back to the house at five; don't be late."
I watched as she put her sandals on and blew me a kiss before leaving the house.
Standing up, I went to the kitchen and found a list with some money on the kitchen island. I grabbed the paper and saw a list of things to buy.
I put the paper and money in my pocket and went over to the closet near the front door. I grabbed my shoes from the closet and put them on before shutting the closet door and opening the front door.
I'm going to be honest, I expected someone to pop out and shout that this was a prank, but no one did. The guards didn't even bother to try and stop me as I stepped out of the house.
Is this my chance to escape?
I went down the steps and walked over to the only car in the driveway. The car is a black, matte Lamborghini and this is the first time I've fallen in love with a car.
I unlocked the car and then looked around at the guards. They still haven't made a move to try and stop me, so I got into the car and put the seatbelt on.
I started the car and drove towards the gate. When the guards opened the gate, I felt a smile growing on my lips.
This is really happening.
But it does seem too good to be true, so I'll still need to be cautious. There has to be a reason as to why they're letting me out.
But....I might as well enjoy it!
Turning on the radio, I listened to music and rolled the windows down as I drove on the streets, feeling so free. The wind blew my hair back and a smile stayed on my lips as I sang the lyrics to the song that's playing.
