I returned to the hostel to tell Joy about John and how he wanted a relationship with me. As I entered the room I saw Joy on the bed reading a novel. Joy was a very good reader, she could read about 3 novels a day each of about a thousand pages. She was an introvert who hardly associated with her mates. She looked at me and said "Ahh, Ada this one you're smiling like you won a lottery, what happened?" I replied, "John the school captain  said he likes me and wants to have a relationship with me." Johnnn!! That player, he approached me at first and said he also liked me and wanted us to date but I turned down his request. I heard he dates girls for two months and when he gets what he wants he leaves. I was amazed how Joy knew all this as I thought she didn't know much about boys. Joy advised me to turn down John's request but I was already crushing on him. The next day I met John and we talked. I told him I was too young for a relationship and didn't want to get heartbroken. He begged me and swore that if we date he'll make me happy  throughout. I wasn't convinced and told him that people call him a player and I didn't want to be cheated on. He replied "people call me a player but it's your choice to believe and I swear if we date I'll never leave you." I told him I was going to give him my reply later as I was not still fully convinced.
I returned to my hostel and told Joy what John said and she laughed and said "Boys will never change" and told me not to believe him. I was in a strong dilemma and didn't know who to believe between John and Joy.
