Marley

The next morning when we woke up in our hotel room, Ben was not there. Though however Hadley still was.

Ben did leave a note saying he was going out to "adventure" by himself. Although Hadley and I had things to do. We were going job hunting today, maybe apartment hunting tomorrow or later this week.

After I woke Hadley up and we got dressed we headed over to Mayfair. There they had a couple blocks of cute little shops for all kinds of things. Smoothies, coffee, music, different types of foods, you name it and it was probably there.

We walked into a coffee shop with the name "Teds Coffee and Tea" on a sign above. We walked to the front counter and asked for a manager. From there a short, stubby guy with a beard and one of those mustaches that curls at the end walks out to talk to us. He took us one by one to a separate booth to ask us questions.

We both ended up with a job, though different shifts. Since Ted, the owner as well as the man who interviewed us, said we were too close of friends to work together. Something about "not getting work done on the job." But it's whatever. I have a job to somewhat support myself while I'm here.

When we were done at the coffee and I suppose tea shop we decided to go take a walk on this street. To the right of the shop was a video game shop called Game Buddy.

Since Hadley and I had an unconditional love for video games since we were young, we decided to go check the place out. It was around 3 o'clock so we still had time left in our day to check things out.

We walked into the store and with the sound of a bell an employee came out from the back I'm assuming to greet us. It was a boy who looked about our age. He looked like he was confused with his eyebrows furrowed until he looked up at us. He had brown curly hair that did have some length to it. Once he noticed us he gave us a smile, which showed off his perfectly straight teeth and his nice dimples.

"Hi welcome to Game Buddy. Is there anything I can help you with?"

He tried to sound enthusiastic but you could tell he was tired of being here.

"Um no thank you we are just looking," Hadley answered for the both of us. I just smiled and nodded.

Hadley and I split up to go look at different things.

I found a game that interested me, though it did not have a price on it. So I figured I would have to ask the strange boy at the front who just sat there fiddling with his thumbs. Did I forget to say he looked like he could fall asleep right then and there?

"Hi excuse me?"

"Oh yes?" I did take a liking to his slow deep raspy voice with that accent I'm still not used to.

"I was wondering how much this game is?" I held up Animal Crossing. It was my absolute favorite game when I was younger but I broke it on accident when I left it out and my dog decided to run into our house and all over that game so it got to scratched to play.

"Uh, I'm not sure?" He looked down to the floor. "

First day?" I asked with a smile slowly creeping onto my face.

"Is it that noticeable?" He asked while his eyes went wide.

"No not really, just a lucky guess. Let me try to guess another thing, you don't know anything about video games?"

"Is that noticeable as well?"

"Well I always know..." I looked at his name tag, "Harry."

"Well you are right again. I grew up mainly listening to music, different bands and artists. I've never really been into gaming, though." This just gave me a brilliant idea.

"Harry, do you know how to play any instruments?."

"I know guitar and a little bit of the bass..."

I cut him off, "How about I'll teach you a what I know of video games and you help me out learning guitar?" I know I just met him, but we could help each other out still.

"I'm not sure how we would do that, considering I don't even know your name."

"Marley."

"Cute name. Well, Marley, if you are up for it I guess I am too."

"Sounds good." I wrote my number on a flyer using the pen at the counter, "Here's my number, when do we start?" I looked up at him and smiled while he just smiled back, shrugging a bit.

Hadley walked up to us when we started smiling to each other. "What were you guys talking about?" She asked us while looking confused at me.

"Nothing. You can just expect to see a bit more of Harry here around us more." I said while he looked at me and grinned.

If I only knew, this was just the beginning.
