The rouges watched her every moment. Their red eyes mad and hungry. She took a deep breath, suddenly everything became more clear, the surrounding mas magnified. She could hear the tiniest of noise made, see the things that her human eyes would probably miss, she is seeing through her beast's eyes. Her claws extended, her fangs elongated, she felt stronger and more powerful. The rogues too felt the change in her, but their sanity was long gone in order to put the pieces together.
Eva's eyes glowed as her power rippled through the air. Eva turned to the fallen tree, the sudden movement made the rouges to jump into action following her, using it as leverage. She tried to climb up to the highest point she could reach, her senses alerted the enemy closing in on her. As the rouges got close enough for her, she turned and jumped, landing herself on the beast, her claws cut through the skin drawing blood.
Her one hand wound up tightly on to beast's neck, clutching on its thick mane, her claws sinking piercing through the skin and flesh. She took her other hand, leaned forward and thrust her elongated claws into the rouges eyes. The rouge yelped and threw itself around, trying to get her off of it's back. But in its haste, the other rouges trying to get to her suffered from the wrath of claws. Now angry, the rouges were over-exerting themselves. She almost lost balance when the rouge tried to roll around with her on the back. Now she lost her ride, she was on the ground, with other rouges who all had scratches and staring at her with even madder eyes than started out.
Without wasting much time, Eva grabbed the nearest one by the neck, she felt it's fang grazing her shoulder. Using the height as leverage, she raised herself on her toes and veered around herself just the right angle snapping its neck. The crack echoed in the forest and the rogue's corpse now lay motionless.
Two down, two to go. One dead and other withered around in pain, in no state to fight her. Eva's beast was out for blood, and now it desired more. Something with the way she looked might have alerted the other two rouge because they froze in their stance. For a second everything went quiet, except for the grunt of the injured rogue and her heavy breathing.
Suddenly the earth under them vibrated, she could feel the steady onslaught of something coming in their way. The rogues too picked up on it, they hightailed out the other direction. Eva panicked, they can't find her like this, whoever coming. She calmed herself down enough to reign her beast in.
The quiet atmosphere in the forest became chaotic, the trees shook and thundering noise came closer as the time passed by. The hair on her back stood up, her senses on high. Her heightened smell alerted of the pack wolves, her body almost sag of relief. Shit! She cursed herself. She was careful not to cross any nearby packs. Maybe she missed it in the haste of running for her life, from those bloodthirsty rogues.
It was during the midday, some trackers from the pack picked up the trail of rouges, but there was something else that made their beast restless. They braved themselves to investigate further some more when their heightened hearing, alerted them of snarls and grunts. Soon their beast took over, shifting, howling and running to where they heard the noise from.
They all came to a halt on seeing her in the middle of nowhere, with a corpse at her feet and another withering in pain. The look in her eyes was fierce and contrasted to the rest of her appearance.
Her breathing was heavy, and her chest protested with every breath she took. Her heart thumped out in her ribcage. Her body screamed in pain at her, she could feel her muscles strained and protested to move. Now that she doesn't have the strength of her beast, everything hit her hard, her body swayed. She made the outline of wolves coming towards her, but she couldn't do much, her eyes rolled back, darkness enveloping her completely.
