Chapter 7

08.20 PM, At Martin Sun Apartment, Batam.

"Rose?? Are you okay??", Vanessa asks right after she opens the door and go into her apartment. Dave and Sean follow her looking for Rose.

"Nessa...", They hear Rose's voice from the bathroom. She sounds a weakly and desperately at the same time.

Vanessa stands in front of the bathroom. "What happened?"

"I... I think I ate too much. Now i get diarrhea.", Rose answers difficultly.

"Ok, I'll go buy some medicine okay?"

"I'll go to the nearby drug store.", Dave says.

"Who's that?", Rose asks.

"Hi Rose, it's me Dave! Let's talk later.", Dave says before he leaves them.

"Dave? Finally, good to you, Nessa.", Rose says.

Vanessa chuckles and says, "I know, Rose. I'll wait you in the living room."

"Okay."

Vanessa walks to living room, Sean follows her and sit on the sofa.

"Is it because of the chicken wings?", Sean asks to Vanessa while Vanessa is moving some packages from living room table.

"Maybe. She likes chicken wings, no, she loves them. That's why she ate too many pieces of them.", Vanessa answers and she can see the guilty line from Sean's face. "Don't worry, she'll get better soon."

Sean only be quiet and can't get rid of the guiltiness from himself.

Vanessa stares at Sean. He was the happiest and most active person when they had dinner together, but now he becomes quiet and serious person. Maybe it is because he is worrying about Rose right now, and he can't hide the guiltiness he has. Vanessa had been checking about Sean through social media account while they were having BBQ dinner. But, unfortunately, she can't get any information about him through the internet.

"Sean, do you have upstagram?", Vanessa asks.

"Upstagram? Do you mean the social media app that trending right now?"

"Yup."

"Hmm... No. Why?"

"Nothing. I'm asking only."

Sean looks around the apartment. It's quite convenient and clean, even though there are a bunch of stuffs waiting to be packed by Rose. He can imagine how tired Rose is, if every day she needs to prepare so many things for her living. In the silence, he starts to feel curious about the reason why Rose doesn't want to hire someone to help her. However, he hesitates to ask furthermore to Vanessa since they just knew him few hours ago. After all, he just keeps quiet and waiting for Rose comes out from the bathroom.

"I'm dying.", Rose says after she comes out from the bathroom. "Hey, what are you doing here?"

"Have you felt better?", Sean asks.

"As you can see, I'm quite better now. Why are you here?"

"Rose, I left my phone at the BBQ area. So, he was the one who answered your call when you called me. Then he ran after me to inform me about you.", Vanessa helps Sean to answer the question. "I'll get water for you."

Rose slowly sits to the sofa in front of Sean. "I don't have time for this."

"May I help you packing those items?", Suddenly Sean opens his mouth for offering help. "I have experienced in packing clothes, so you can leave them on me."

Rose stares at him. After few seconds, she says, "No."

"Oh, Come on! I don't like the feel of guiltiness, at least let me pay you by doing it."

"What guilty feel are you talking about? You treated us dinner and it tasted great. It's just my stomach problem, none of this is your fault."

Ding Dong! The door's bell rings.

"I'll open it, here your water.", Vanessa passes a glass of warm mineral water to Rose.

"Sorry for taking so long, I bought different kinds medicine for diarrhea because I don't know which one is suitable for your stomach.", Dave says after Vanessa opens the door. He puts the medicines on the living room table to let Rose choose.

Rose takes one of the medicines and she eats 2 tablets. But few seconds after, she runs to the bathroom again.

"It's not finished yet, huh?", Vanessa asks from the outside of bathroom door.

"May... Maybe... The last.", Rose answers difficultly and it makes Vanessa laughs.

"Hey, Rose. I think that Sean's idea is good, he can help you pack your customers orders so you can have rest after this.", Vanessa says.

"No, I will be okay."

"Yes, stubborn girl. You will be okay after you take full rest after you finish your business in the bathroom. Come on, just give the instruction."

Rose sighs before she says, "Fine. There is... a list that I've already opened on my laptop, just pack those items following the code.... quantity, and customer addresses. Do not mix up!"

"Okay, lady boss!"

Vanessa unlocked Rose's laptop and shows Sean about what Rose instructed them. Sean receives the instruction easily then he starts to do the packing. While Sean is packing the items, Vanessa and Dave talks about their wedding plan. Sean doesn't put attention too detail on what they are discussing, he just focuses to his job right now. This kind of job reminds him of when he worked as a part timer at a boutique at Bandung. The boutique outlet sells Indonesia Batik Clothing and he worked there around three years when he was in college. Sometimes when he goes to Bandung, he visits the owners of the boutique outlets because they are always nice to him.

In an hour later, Rose comes out from the bathroom. She looks pale and walk slowly.

"Have you felt better?", Vanessa asks.

Rose nods and says, "I need to rest."

Vanessa immediately helps Rose walks to Rose's bedroom. Rose lays on her bed after she gets into her room and not long after that she falls asleep. After that, Vanessa prepares and puts a glass of the water and medicine on Rose's bedside table. Then, Vanessa prepares some drink for Sean, Dave, and herself. Lastly, she sits and discusses with Dave about their wedding plan again.
