BELLAMY:

I took Clarke to the dropship after the ark had crashed. Once we entered the ship, I sat Clarke down and walked back outside.

"Alright, now I know some of you had family on the ark, so those of you who need time to morn, go ahead and do so. For the rest of you, get back to work. We haven't much time before winter gets here. This is our first winter on Earth so we need to be prepared."

I turned back to the dropship and reentered seeing Clarke huddled into a corner, her arms wrapped around her legs and her head buried in her knees. I walked up to her and sat beside her, laying one hand on her back for comfort.

"Hey, Princess. You ok?"

I didn't hear anything come from her but faint sobs. I couldn't stand to see her like this. Seeing Clarke broken down and vulnerable was heartbreaking. Like this side of her was never meant to be seen by anyone because she's so strong-willed and brave. Brave Princess.

"Clarke, I know it's tough. Take all the time you need. We're all here for you... I'm here for you."

She looked up and I could see how red her eyes were. I could see all the tears that had ran down her cheek. All the dirt that was on her face now had clean streaks running through it from the tears falling down her face.

"Thank you Bellamy," she said forcing a smile on her face.

"Do you need anything? Anything at all?"

"Would you stay with me for a little while?"

"Sure Princess," I said sliding closer to her so that our legs touched. I wrapped my arms around her and held her tightly so that her head rested on my chest and we just sat their for a while. Completely silent and still.

Around 20 minutes had passed and I looked down at Clarke. She fell asleep on me and I knew she needed her rest. I couldn't just leave her here to lie on the cold hard floor.

I lifted her up and carried her outside. Octavia, my sister, seen me and ran up to us.

"Hey, is she ok?" she asked me.

"Yeah she'll be fine, just tired. I need to go put her in her tent."

Octavia placed her hand in front of me to stop me.

"What? What if she wakes up crying? What if something happens to her and she needs someone? Uh uh. She is not going to her tent alone. She can come lay in my tent... Aw Crap! I forgot I'm letting Diana stay in my tent with me.... don't ask why. It's girl drama. Umm... can she stay with anyone else? Jasper?"

"He's with Monty already."

"What about.... nevermind. I'm not even gunna suggest it."

"I'm not having her stay with Finn. It's not happening," I said sternly.

"I wasn't suggesting Finn," she raised an eyebrow at me. I knew what she meant.

"Ugh. Fine she can stay in my tent tonight," I looked at Octavia with a disappointed face, when really I wasn't disappointed... at all.

"Don't try to act all sad that you have to have a girl sleep in your tent. I know how you are Bell. Don't try anything stupid. I'm watching you," she pointed two fingers at her eyes then pointed them at me gesturing that she would be "watching me".

I carried Clarke back to my tent and layed her on my bed. It was still light out so I just went back outside to help with building since we were missing people due to the explosion.

A couple hours passed by and then it got dark. Everyone went into their tents to sleep except for the men taking first watch at the gate. I headed to my tent and stepped in. I took off my shoes and shirt and climbed into bed. I felt something touch my back and I turned feeling startled. I completely forgot that Clarke was in my bed!

She woke up and we were just staring at each other for a while. Neither of us knew what to do.

"Sorry, I forgot you were in here," I said immediately while trying to role out of the bed.

"It's ok. What am I doing in here?" she asked rubbing her head.

"Well you fell asleep on me earlier so I started taking you to your tent but Octavia insisted that you stay with someone just in case you need something, but everyone else's tents were... occupied so she had me put you in here. But I'm fine with it. I'll just lay a blanket down here and..."

"No! You're not sleeping on the cold dirt Bellamy! You'll get hypothermia! Or even worse! No you're sleeping in your own bed. I'll just go to my tent. I'll be fine."

"No you're not. You have to stay with someone, at least for tonight. That way someone can keep an eye on you just in case you have a bad dream or something."

"Bellamy, I'm almost 18 years old. I can handle a nightmare."

"Yeah but it's still not good for you to be alone after something like this happens. Why don't you just stay here? I don't mind sharing the bed."

She was completely silent. Maybe she was nervous. It got a little awkward from the silence so I needed to do something quick.

"Look, I won't bite," I said jokingly,"It's not like anything will happen. We're just sleeping. Now come on. You need some rest. After the kind of day you've had, you need all the sleep you can get."

"Okay."

She slid into the bed and I layed next to her. We faced back to back. We layed in silence for a while until I heard a mumble.

"What?" I said.

"I said thank you for letting me sleep in here. I actually feel a lot better knowing I'm not alone."

"No problem Princess."

"Hey, Bellamy?"

"Yeah."

"Can you hold on to me? When I had a bad dream, my dad would lay next to me and have his arm around me so he could keep me safe from the nightmares. I know it's childish but I just..."

"It's ok Clarke. I don't mind. Whatever you need, I'm here."

I turned over and wrapped my arm around her and huddled as close as I could to her so she would feel safe.

"Goodnight Bellamy," she said.

"Goodnight, Princess."
