He was so tired,
But he couldn't rest,
He had the weight
Of the world on his shoulders,
The weight of his family,
His large, dysfunctional
Family

They hated him,
Hated him for
All of his past wrongs,
He'd done everything,
Everything in his power
To fix them,
To fix everything.

They'd fought,
He'd nearly died,
He had to destroy
A part of himself,
For his love
His son had died...

He was so tired,
He just wanted comfort,
In something, anything,
Someone who wouldn't
Expect so much,
Someone who wouldn't
Die on him
Like everyone else.

He was dying,

There was a star,
A savior,
Something that would
Bring him his world back.
He couldn't rest yet,
There was still more,
But, for once, he didn't care.

They could do it themselves,
He'd done so much for them,
For once could they just
Let him be happy,
Let him be normal
For once.

He was, he had a family,
He'd picked up his own pieces,
He'd loved,
He'd been loved,
Three thousand in fact...

But he knew
He couldn't rest for long,
He knew he was
Being selfish,
He knew he was needed.

So he didn't rest,
He never did
He worked,
And he sacrificed
And only then
He could rest
And it hurt
