The Ierós were the sacred.
No mortal being could match their power or stand upon the same ground as them. Humans were pure blooded beings, with inheritance by two other mortal beings. The ierós however had different bloodlines. Their blood traced back to their origins that provided them with such exceptional abilities.
The Basiliks are perhaps the deadliest of them all. Their blood is merged with a snake, so deadly, and so poisonous that a glance in their piercing silver, almost metallic eyes, and that surely would be the last anyone will ever hear of you. The air around these creatures is also considered so noxious and toxic that a mortal cannot survive sharing the same air as a Basilik. They exhibit such radiation laced with poison that the internal organs wither and burst due to combustion. So there's only one way to survive around a Basilik and it's to avoid being around them at all.
But the Basiliks are the least of anyone's worries now, because they no longer have the permit to stroll around in open. They were trapped in an underground tunnel to ensure the well beings of the others, especially their ever old enemies. Sevrus.
The Severus were no saint either, their survival was honestly a miracle considering that every Basilik had vowed to torture everyone of them.
The Sevrus were unique in their own way, the rivalry begun due the origins of a sevrus being a sea serpent and a dragon combined. They were automatically superior; the sea serpent blood graced them with the ability to rule the oceans if they wanted and the elegance of a dragon gave them the enchanting ability of mind control. They were powerful to say the least, poisonous as well but not quite on the levels of a Basilik. You could still be putty in their hands, following their commands and fulfilling their desires but when they would be done with you, a single drop of their poison would enough to annihilate you.
That brings us to the cold-blooded killers Chimera. A chimera's blood is laced with traces of a lion and a fire breathing dragon. They could be regarded as true kings, as the blood of lions soars through their veins and the ancient fire breathing dragon gives them command over fire. Although, however they also possessed the mind blowing ability to erase one's memories and impale upon their brain whatever they wished the person to remember.
These were strange creatures, with their origins linking them to a lion and a dragon; stitched on their backs were a pair of demonic wings. They were the epitome of elegant in so many ways, the first thing that was taught to every chimera, was revenge. And no matter how gruesomely they killed, it still found a way to the book of elegance.
Although, one kind that never found its way to the book of elegance, were the Hippogriff. They were ugly in every aspect, yet they possessed the purest soul of them all. A hippogriff owes its origins to an eagle and a horse. Their blood was mixed in such peculiar way, that traces of angel blood could also be found. Seemingly, it made them less dangerous, and with angel blood coursing in their veins they were already labeled as the ugliest creature among the ierós. Though, their appearance also played a huge factor in that, let's just say inheriting an eagles and horses traits doesn't result in remotely dainty creature.
They were supreme though, with the inherited ability to fly and their heightened senses, it was a rare sighting to see a hippogriff walking on land. Sky was their only home, for as long as anybody could remember.
And of course the ierós could never be complete without the mention of the legendary Asgarhs.
They existed in only fantasies and legends for mortals, but they truly did exist. Pure werewolf blood tainted with demonic traces. Asgarhs were the definitions of grace and it was impossible for one to not fall for their charms, and to drown in those emerald orbs they possessed. They could see through your soul with such calm demeanor and at the same time they could also rip you too shreds.
Literally.
Asgarhs were led by an Alpha; it was almost a symbol of power that would keep these vicious beasts aligned. They were blessed with supreme powers, and one could never predict anything with an Asgarh. Their demonic tendencies made them the perfect menacing beasts that could devour you yet their werewolf aspect and intelligence resulted in a delicately balanced creature. So vicious yet so close to utter perfection.
The ierós were perfectly balanced creatures, an important piece in this world and its games. But no one was aware of such masterpieces crafted by the Great God himself. His intentions were never known, maybe it was a curse or rather just a show for him to relish as the world would lead itself into a catastrophic end.
