*SKYLERS POV*
I open my eyes, not to the sun, but to the rain. I live in Brighton, and of course it rains quite a bit here.
I stretch my arm out and grab my phone off of my side dresser.
2 texts from Ashton.
Ashton is my little 7 year old brother, ever since he got his phone he's been texting me constantly just to be able to use it. I ignore his text and get out of my bed. It was around 12 pm so I had to get up anyways.
My phone rang and I picked it up.
"Hey skyler! Come over as soon as possible!!" My friend ashley chirped through the phone. I hung up and went to my closet. I grabbed white leggings with my white and blue sweater along with my blue vans. I brush out my medium length brown hair and fishtail braid it. After that I brush my teeth and do just a bit of concealer and mascara since I was just going to Ashley's house.
"Mom can you drive me to Ashley's?" I ask and my mom nods and grabs the keys. We get to the car and drive away.
~at Ashley's house~
"So what was so important for you to tell me?" I ask Ashley
"Okay this can either be a happy thing or a sad thing." She tells me.
"Just say it!!" I say getting anxious.
"Okay so my mom wants to stay in California for a year. My dad got some promotion and he has to go to Cali for a year. Which means I have to go with them. I told them how upset I was about it, and they said you can come and stay with us too since we both do online school as long as it's okay with your parents" she says and we both scream.
"I've always wanted to go to the us!!!!" I scream.
"Me too!!!"
"I just hope my parents say yes." I say
I get out my phone and call my mom, I couldn't wait to ask her.

M- hello
S- hey mom *asks about the trip*
M-when will you guys be leaving?
S- next week.
M- okay I guess it's fine but if you don't stay caught up on your work your coming straight home.
S- okay thankyou!!!!!!
"She said yes!!!!!!!!" I scream and me and Ashley do our little happy dance.
*time-lapse*
Today was the morning I leave for Cali. I was excited but a little sad to leave my family for a whole year.
"Bye mom bye dad" I say hugging them, next I hug my older brother tyler. Lastly Ashton. I say goodbye to everyone and hop into the car and go to the airport with Ashley and he parents.
*at the airport*
"I'm so excited" I say to Ashley as we walk through security.
"Me too" she answers
We get on the plane and I instantly fall asleep.
"We will be landing in 5 minuets" the speakers sounded. I woke up and looked out the window. I was in the us!!!!!!
*skip to getting to the house. We had our bags and the house was already furnished, and huge.
"Go choose your rooms girls!" Ashley's mom told us and we ran upstairs. There were two huge ones right across from eachother so we choose those two. "Mom were going to go walk around for a little bit okay?" Ashley tells her mom. "Okay just make sure you have your phones on" she says
"We will" I say as we walk out the door. We started to walk down the street. There was a park with a huge garden to the side of it and a beautiful pond. We walked down there to look around. There were adorable kids everywhere. American accents chiming around. I loved the American accent.
Me and Ashley sat on a beach and enjoyed the warm weather. Until a bunch of obnoxious guys started paying basketball and yelling like idiots. "They're so annoying" I say laughing. The ball bounced over to us because one of the guys missed. A boy with brown hair and blue eyes came up to us and I gave him his ball back. "Thanks" he said. "You're welcome" I said back with a smile. "You two from England??" He asked surprised at out accents. "Brighton" I correct him. "So what are you guys going in La?" The boy asked as the rest came over also. "My dad got some promotion here" Ashley said. "Cool, I'm Nash, and this is Taylor, Cameron, Dillon, and and Taylor." He says with a smile. "Nice to meet you, I'm skyler and this is Ashley" I said back.
"We were just about to go get some Starbucks, want to come?" Nash asked.
"Sure" Ashley said before I could say anything.
I just nodded my head and texted Ashley as we got up
S-why did you say yes they could be killers for all we know!
A- the Dillon guy is cute! I don't care if they're killers!😂
S- whatever
As we follow the guys to Starbucks, I looked at the one that was dillon. He wasn't all that great looking but he wasn't ugly.
Then I actually looked at all of them. Nash and Cameron were pretty hot. But Taylor was completely adorable!
We got to Starbucks and Nash insisted on paying for everyone.
We talked about Brighton and they told us a little about what it's like in La.
They were actually really cool.
"We gotta get back home" Ashley says and I nod. We tell the guys good bye and we all exchange our numbers.
I got Taylor's.
I didn't want to tell Ashley that I thought Taylor was cute because I knew she would tell him.
We got back to the house and it was kinda late. We ate a little dinner and went to bed.
