Once upon a time, when dragons and unicorns prowled Evergraden, each one a friend to a human, and -wait a moment! That time is now!

💎

"Heads up Ammie!" Kathlynn shouted, hurling a silver ball into the air. Ammie kicked the silver ball and it flew over to Antonnia. "Ronny, catch!" Antonnia clamored, using her elbow to throw the ball to her brother.

"I've got it! I've got-" Ronald said, the ball gliding past his head. "I don't have it." He added glumly, watching his sister, Lonni catch it.

"I do admire this playground your mum and dad built, Kathy," Lonni said to Kathlynn, throwing the ball back to Antonnia.

"Yeah, Kathy!" Jey cried, watching the ball whisk past Antonnia and into his reach. Jumping in the air, whacking it with the top of his head.

"Good catch, Jey!" Antonnia exclaimed.

"Thanks, Tonni," Jey replied, giving the girl a warm smile. He then sat down on the grassy floor before tossing the ball back to Kathlynn.

"What's wrong, Jey?" Ammie asked.

"Just exhausted. The sun is relatively hot today," Jey remarked.

Just then, Jey's dog, Hunter, ran from the thick brush and over to his owner, laying a stick in his lap.

"You want to play fetch, don't you Hunter?" Jey asked playfully, standing up, stick in hand. Using his left hand, he threw the stick as far as he could.

Hunter ran through the grassy field and caught the stick, running back to his owner.

"Good boy, Hunter!" Jey exclaimed, petting his dog's head.

"My, I wish my cat was that decent at fetch. I don't know why he won't ever go and actually fetch the stick," Ronnald said, scratching the top of his head in thought.

"Ever think that maybe it's because cats don't fetch?" Kathlynn said with the silver ball in her right hand.

"Oh, right," Ronald said, realizing he sounded dumb.

"My cat pants like a dog," Ammie said, tieing her hair in a messy bun.

"Vanilla does have a way of panting to cool down. She's a bizarre cat." Kathlynn stated.

Lonni shrugged her shoulders in agreement.

Kathlynn tossed the ball in the air, but instead of throwing it, she let it fall back into her hand. "Did you want to play something else? I'm getting slightly tired of catch."

"Agreed," Antonnia said, sitting down on the grassy field. Her sister and brother mimicked her.

"Did you want to make up a song?" Ammie asked, sitting down with the triplets, signaling for Kathlynn to do the same.

"We could," Kathlynn said, sitting down in between Jey and Ammie. "But what would it be about?"

"That's a valid question," Antonnia said.

There was a moment of silence between the friends as they thought of a topic to sing about.

"How about dragons?" Ronald proposed. "And unicorns!" Lonni exclaimed. "Or it could be about mystical creatures in general?" Antonnia suggested quietly.

"Perfect! But I'm out of inspiration. Oh well," Ammie shrugged.

The rest of the group shrugged and laid down on the soft, bright green grass, inspecting the clouds, birds, and insects that floated across the sky.

The early afternoon hours went by quickly, the children having fun however they wanted to. They were royal, after all.

"Hey, guys!" Ammie said, getting everyone's attention. "Did you want to have a sleepover at my place?" She asked.

Kathlynn said yes first since she was Ammie's sister.

"Ooooo!" Antonnia and Lonni exclaimed in unison. "Yes!" They turned to face each other and chuckled.

"I think I'll sit this one out," Ronald said, glancing over at his sisters.

"Me too. Hey, did you wanna come over, Ron? I just bought the newest video games for the Jazeplayz-480!" Jey said, looking over at Ronald.

"That sounds epic!" Ronald exclaimed. "I'll text my mummy and let her know I'll be in Trotsonel tonight."

"I should probably let our mum know that me and Tonni will be with you and Ammie tonight," Lonni said to Kathlynn, pulling her Q-Phone from her navy blue cross-body messenger bag.

After texting her mom, Lonni started scrolling through the latest Camgram posts, seeing if any of her friends had posted any new recipes for her to try.

"That looks tasty," Antonnia said, looking over her sister's shoulder.

"I made it already, Tonni," Lonni responded.

"Oh, was that the gross, jiggling thing at the table last week?" Antonnia jokingly asked.

"No, that was Ronald's gelatin!" Lonni laughed in response.

"Hey!" Ronald protested.

Lonni, Antonnia, Kathlynn, and Ammie giggled at Ronald. "Boys," they all laughed with an eye roll.

💎

"Girls!" Ammie and Kathlynn's mom, Susannia, sing-songed. "It is time for bed, girls!" She pointed at the clock in the room and the girls quieted down and looked up at the clock. The big hand was on the VI and the small hand was on the X.

"It is late! We should get some rest!" Ammie exclaimed, getting up from the couch.

"Let's go to the playground tomorrow!" Lonni suggested.

"Yeah!" Kathlynn agreed. "I'll text Jey. Tonni, can you text your brother? I wanted to meet up with them so we can play catch like today!"

"Sure," Antonnia nodded, looking in her cross-body messenger bag for her Q-Phone.

"Girls, let's get to bed. Everyone, go gather your things, get changed, brush your teeth, and I'll set up an audiobook for you to listen to while you fall asleep. Let's go into the in-law masters suite." Susannia ordered, grabbing Ammie's hand and guiding her to the in-law masters suite. The other girls followed closely.

"There are two bathrooms, right Queen Susy?" Lonni asked Susannia.

"Yes, my dear," Susannia assured.

The girls had all their belongings in their arms, heading to the in-law masters suite. It was quite large. In fact, it had two king-sized bunk beds and two dog beds, two bedrooms and two kitchens, one living room, a theater, a spa, and a private indoor pool with a 7-foot slide. It was the grandest place to sleep inside the palace unless you were the queen and king. Then you had a library and a clothing store in your suite.

"Well girls," Susannia said to the girls, tucking her daughters into bed. "Would you like to listen to The Secret Forest?"

"Yes!!!" They all exclaimed in unison with a giggle.

"Then we shall!" Queen Susannia exclaimed. "And then, it shall be off to bed once chapter one ends!" She added.

"Thank you, your majesty!" Antonnia said.

"Thanks, mummy!" Ammie exclaimed.

"You're the best mum," Kathlynn stated.

"Thank you, Queen Susy," Lonni said, rubbing her eyes.

When Susannia left the room, the four girls ended off their day with a "Goodnight!"
