(I'm in love with this AU right now. I accidentally started writing it in class so I wrote some more parts for it and here it is!

Below is a piece from a song that gave me the inspiration to start as well!)

"But his dark eyes dared me with danger and sparks fly like flame to a paper."

-Already Gone, Sugarland

"Do you trust me?"

Keith stares at the tan hand extended out to him. Kosmo growls in warning but Keith pays no mind to the large wolf, his eyes instead trained on the welcoming hand and the boy extending it.

"Please? I promise I'll return you home."

The boy, Lance, Keith's mind supplies, is looking at him with such open and trusting blue eyes. With a sudden burst of bravery Keith accepts the hand, letting Lance pull him over onto the mysterious floating carpet. Kosmo barks in worry but Keith's mind is on the strong arms around him and the warm chest he's pressed against.

"Uhm, sorry."

Lance coughs, pulling back.

"You're fine."

And he is. He's more than fine.

"You wanna sit?"

Lance asks.

"Is that safer?"

"We're on a magic floating carpet with no seat belts. So, yes."

"Thank you for warning me about this death trap after I'm already on it."

Lance laughs and the sound is like music to Keith's ears. It's then that Keith realizes he would do anything to hear that laugh. The thought stays with him through the ride on the carpet, the kiss they share afterwards, and even when he's back home, curled up with Kosmo while his fingertips dance over his lips, the ghost of warmth still left behind.

He would do anything to hear that laugh.

"Thank you for helping me escape."

Keith thanks the stranger standing in front of him.

"It's no problem helping a pretty boy like you."

The stranger replies and Keith can't help but roll his eyes at the flirtatious line.

"You hungry?"

Keith looks up to see the boy is holding out an apple to him. The rumble of his stomach is answer enough and Keith takes it.

"Thought so."

They both sit down on a small ledge and Keith takes a bite of the apple.

"So, what is this place?"

He asks after he swallows.

"Oh, this place?"

The stranger looks around at the mess of a building and shrugs.

"It's just a place I like to go to."

"It's kind of... dirty."

The boy smiles before reaching up to pull at a curtain. Once the curtain is pulled fully to the side Keith can see a beautiful view of the houses around them and right smack dab in the middle is the massive structure of the castle; white and gold exterior shining in the light.
