"I'M THE ONLY OPTION YOU GUYS THOUGHT OF? WHAT ABOUT CHARLOTTE?" Allie questioned as she looked at Charlotte who was sitting next to Grizz on the couch. Allie could tell something happened between the three girls by the way they were all separated in the room and that they weren't sparing one glance at one another. They were also not afraid to show if they were pissed or not.
Luke shook his head, glancing at Charlotte who was busy staring at the ground. "She's not comfortable with being the leader, but she said she'll help you make decisions, like how she helped your sister."
Allie nodded and then glanced around, "If I'm going to do this, then I need someone to be with me every minute, every second."
"Of course," Everyone murmured, but Allie shook her head.
"Don't just nod your heads like idiots, I don't want an easy yes." Allie glared, her eyes getting glossy, "Accepting this responsibility is like asking me to die for you. They'll shoot me, like how they shot her."
The others exchanged glances as Charlotte spoke up without a doubt. "That won't happen." Everyone looked at Charlotte who stared at Allie with a serious look. "I'll make sure you're safe."
"Char," Will started but Charlotte shook her head.
"I'm not letting another Pressman die,"
Luke then nodded, "We'll protect you, Allie."
Allie nodded as Grizz placed a hand on Charlotte's knee, "The Guard will protect Allie, Char,"
Charlotte raised her eyebrow, "Did you forget I'm apart of the Guard?"
Grizz blinked, "Yeah, but what if you get hurt? People have guns in their pockets and they can whip it out whenever they want,"
Charlotte shrugged, "So what? They shoot me? I don't care, I'm not afraid to die."
A frown made its way on Grizz's face as he stared at Charlotte. He tried to search her face to see if she was hesitant, or if she was joking, but he could tell that she was dead serious.
"Char," Becca softly exclaimed, her eyes softening as she looked at Charlotte.
"What? I mean it, they can go ahead and kill me but I'll make sure they die an even more painful death."
"You have to understand that you're human too, you're not invincible," Gordie tried to say but Charlotte shook her head.
"I know, Gordie. I know that one stab to the heart and there I go, but I promised Cassandra one thing at the very start when we got here," Charlotte said, "To make sure everyone lived in peace and harmony, and now that we have lunatics with guns running all over the place? I'll do whatever it takes to make sure she," Charlotte pointed at Allie, "Changes that and continues what Cassandra started."
"I'm not like my sister though," Allie muttered, her eyes getting glossy.
Charlotte narrowed her eyes at Allie, "But you always wanted to be like her, did you not? You envied Cass because she shined in the spotlight, while you were living under her shadow. This is your time to step up and show what you can do."
Allie shut her mouth as her and Charlotte had a mini stare down.
Charlotte stood up, her eyes never leaving Allie's, "I will be by your side every second of every day, Allie, but if you do something that I don't like, I will step in and do things my way."

Charlotte trailed in behind Allie as they entered the church. The four guys stayed at the back to guard the doors while Charlotte followed Allie to the front. Charlotte moved to stand with Will and Gordie, to make sure she was close to Allie.
