X: What can I say? He's a pacifist and an overall nice guy, plus he's very cute. Being my favorite character, I sometimes feel bad that in some games the focus shifts from him to his best friend Zero (X4) and crossover titles like Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Anyway, if he were real, he'd definitely be my ideal love match.

Zero: Despite him being Inafune's favorite poster boy, Zero is cool. Not only is he an extremely powerful Hunter but he has a great personality as well. For a character that has had his share of tragedies and having to live with the fact that he is the original carrier of the Sigma virus, he thankfully isn't an angsty emo character and has his non-serious moments and isn't afriad to show that he cares for his friends.

Axl: I've noticed that following his introduction in X7 that some fans disliked Axl. Since I played Command Mission before X7, Axl became one of my favorite characters and I believe that his game was probably what made people dislike him which isn't fair considering that the game itself was terrible on it's own. Not only is he unique, but he's adorable and his light-hearted attitude really helps bring some joy in a world as dark as the X series.

Signas: I really have no opinion on this guy, except that I wish he had more screentime and development. I was glad that in X8 he was given a better voice (Roger Rhodes FTW), but was disappointed that he had no role in the main story like the three navigators.

Alia: When Alia was first introduced, I didn't really mind her much at all. That is until I was interreupted from my playthrough with novice information. But it didn't get worse until X7 where she would constantly bagger you every five seconds with, "Can you here me, X/Zero/Axl?". Annoying gameplay mechanics aside, it's quite irritating that one of the few female characters in the series really serves no purpose other than to give the player obvious hints. But come X6 when just when it seemed like further backstory could redeem her, this is the game where the fans decided that she was foil to X which really gets on my nerves. I obviously don't ship them, not because I want X for myself but due to the fact that there is no concrete proof of them being in love and it just seems like her being the only female present in the games makes it automatically canon that they're a couple. Need I mention how in X6 their conversations were taken completely out of context? I dislike Alia greatly. End of story.

Pallette: I really never liked Pallette's design and she did come off as annoying when screaming for the player to listen to her. I'm not much of a fan of her's but she's still not as bad as Alia.

Layer: I know a lot of fans don't like Layer for having a crush on Zero, especially since his previous girlfriend died. Once upon a time ago I used to be one of those fans, mindlessly defending my preferred ship of Zero/Iris, However, after realizing that Iris wanted Reploid independence (basically going against the Maverick Hunters purpose), if she were still alive her and Zero wouldn't work out especially when you consider her role in Project X Zone. Anyway, it's fair to say that Layer would be more ideal in this case. Not because she's a good guy, too. But her personality is very similar to my own and I felt that I could relate to her. Besides, she's one of the few characters in the series who are modeled after non-Japanese people next to Epsilon from Command Mission.

Sigma: The big bad of it all. Okay, I'll admit he's a huge creep, especially if one counts how many times he manipulated other Reploids to futher his own goals (Doppler, Gate, Red, etc.). But in spite of all that, he's pretty darn smart and has some interesting designs whenever he's resurrected and was quite likeable in the Day of Sigma OVA with his leadership skills. Even though he's the major villian he's still a whole lot better than Redips. A whole lot.

Vile: Finally, X's sworn enemy and series regular who has died multiple times. Vile is perhaps my favorite villain in the series. He's arrogant, rude, and extremely violent to boot. But he's also cool, powerful and perhaps a bit misunderstood. Sure he's stepped out of line as a Maverick Hunter during his days in the 17th Elite Unit, but one has to wonder if he did all of those things just to become noticed since X recieved all of the attention despite being a lower rank than Vile. Upon seeing him make a return in X8, I was ecstatic at how he was given such a fitting voice (Roger Rhodes again) and an actual personality. Though, when MHX came out that persona was expanded on and made me love him even more. Vile's the best, 'nuff said.

Aaand that's all. Phew! This was getting way too long. I apologize for not including other characters, but I didn't really have any input on them since their roles were so miniscule. Hope you enjoyed this, even if you disagree with me. Reiko out.
