What to do?

Chapter 1 Confusion

It was a perfectly sunny and normal day in San Francisco. It was one of those can't wait to get to school and gossip sorta days. One of those days like what to wear or what the heck are we going to do in history this morning. Everything was fine until Katie knocked on Kira's front door, waiting for her to answer so they could walk to school.

"Katie, your ten minutes early", Kira said still half asleep. "I know, but I have some exciting news", Katie said with a huge grin on her face. "I scored us three all inclusive vacation packages to New Orleans!" Katie said jumping with joy. "I already told Gigi this morning. She said she had a dentist appointment so she is going to miss the first half of the morning", said Katie. "I am so excited for this trip. Just us three lying on the sandy beaches soaking up the sun, and riding the big blue waves", said Kira. "Your thinking of Florida", said Katie looking confused. "Oh, my bad", said Kira. "you know I'm bad with geography", said Kira totally confused. "Anyway, my mom said she'll drive us to the airport at 10:00 am on Saturday, so be ready for 9:00, ok?" said Katie. "9:00 am", said Kira with an are you kidding me face on. "That's so early", said Kira. "Just be ready", said Katie. The girls picked up their bags and started walking to school.

The bell rang and their classes began. Kira and Katie couldn't stop thinking about it all morning. Neither could Gigi because she was getting a tooth pulled and wanted to think happy thoughts.

It was 12:00 pm and time for lunch. When Kira and Katie walked into the cafeteria, they saw Gigi at their usual table blowing on her soup. It was the only thing she could eat because of her tooth. The girls sat down and asked Gigi how it went. "Hit uz itty ine", said Gigi, who still had her mouth numbed. "What?", said Kira looking at her confused. then Gigi got a piece of paper and wrote: IT WAS PRETTY FINE. "Ohhh", said Kira and Katie at the same time. They picked up their utensils and started eating their food. They were almost done when a boy named Max walked over to their table. He was a fourteen year old just like the girls. He was in their geography, and math class and often helped Kira with her work. He stopped just in front of Gigi and told her that Nurse Melissa wanted to see her because of her numbness problem. "Uz e unt e oo o ow?" said Gigi. "What", asked Max. "She still numbed", said Katie. "Ohh", said Max confused. then Gigi wrote: DOES SHE WANT ME TO GO NOW? "Ohh, yeah", said Max. "I'll take her", said Kira. Max was about to leave when Katie said "Max wait. Do you mind if I get your answer for question 6 in math?" asked Katie. "Sure. Here you go", said Max happily. "Hey guess what, the weirdest thing happened to me", said Max watching Katie get the answers down. "I was getting my mail this morning, and I found a letter with no stamp or address marked on it. I opened it up an you won't believe what was inside of it", said Max solemnly. "Three all inclusive vacation packages to New Orleans", said Max. Katie looked up confused and curious.
