There are places I can go to
Where I feel safe when I am low
I might travel near or maybe far
I just pack my bag and hit the road
Sometimes I'm not sure just where I'm going
But I know that it's a journey I must take
My heart gives me the strength to face my fears
I search my soul to decide the choices I must make
I've been to both a heaven and a hell on earth
Both equally inviting but neither my idea of paradise
I'm not looking for material wealth, maybe just some self-worth
And if I discover love along the way, it'd be a blessing in disguise
I've not much to fall back on, but I have places I can go to
There's not a sea I can't cross, not a mountain yet I can't climb
And when it seems the road is just too long, my goal is out of reach
I just have to close my eyes, and I always can return to the places in my mind
There are places I must go to if it's peace I have to find
I just close my eyes and I can always return to the places in my mind
