As blood seeped down his hands, he clenched the spear as tight as he could. He knew he was not going to win, but he had to try at least. In front of him, a large demonic being, who is The Blackened leader, is challenging him to a one-on-one duel that will decide the fate of the entire nexus. GBU and Blackened soldiers lay dead on the floor, their lifeless corpses slowly rotting away. The ship floats in the farthest parts of deep space, with the self destruct sequence already activated.
"Well, i guess this is it." Gold thought to himself, "This is how i die..."

As Gold readies his weapons, he looks the leader dead in the eyes. Darkness vs light, the wrong vs the right, the bad vs the good. Gold was determined to protect his friend and family, and nothing was going to stop him from saving them, even if he had to lay down his own life to save them.
"JAAAASSSSOOOONNNN!!!" The leader roared, his voice leaving a scar on the universe itself, and letting out a blood-curdling demonic scream, "END OF THE LINE!! ITS JUST YOU AND ME!!"
"I have ran for far, far too long..." He mutters, clenching his spear tighter, blood oozing out of his wounds, "But now its time to fight back."
Gold sprints towards the leader, and he attempts to stab the leader in the arm with his spear. He hits it's shoulder and sends the spear straight through, but Gold gets cut on the waist from it's sword. He manages to balance himself, "Its going to take a lot more than that to kill me!" He roared, charging towards them again. Gold stabs him in the left knee this time, but the leader barely even flinches.
The leader then swings his sword at Gold while he holds the spear in his leg, and the sword pierces into his shoulder, cutting his right arm clean off. Gold tries to ignore the pain, and grabs the spear with his left hand. He rips the spear out of the leg and pulls it up, aiming for it's throat.
He sends the spear directly into the leader's neck, and the leader lets out a terrifying roar in pain. It shoves Gold away and tries to hold the wound in it's neck. Black blood spills everywhere, and Gold crawls back away from it. Eventually, the leader falls down to the ground with a loud thud. The sirens still blaring from the speakers, emergency lights flashing rapidly.
Gold crawls over to the large window that looks out into space, and he rests against a pillar.
WARNING, THE SHIP WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN T-MINUS 1 MINUTE
As Gold looks out into the vast abyss of space, he realises how lucky he was to have such good friends and family. "If this is how i die... Then i accept my fate." Gold thinks to himself.
WARNING, THE SHIP WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN T-MINUS 45 SECONDS
Gold realises how much they have loved him and supported him, how much they cared about him. He realises that they are safe now, and that they have nothing to fear anymore. "I know i've made bad choices in my life... But i still accept my fate..."
WARNING, THE SHIP WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN T-MINUS 30 SECONDS
Gold realises that he has just saved them all, and ensured that they can be safe for generations to come. His great great great great great great great great grandchildren might still hear his story, and maybe others will pass down the stories of Dr. Jason 'Gold' K. "And i know i have a lot of regrets... But i still accept my fate..."
WARNING, THE SHIP WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN T-MINUS 10 SECONDS
Gold realises that he just destroyed the Blackened, and killed their leader. He realises that everyone and everything is safe now, and that now... He can finally rest... "I accept this path..."
T-MINUS 5, 4...
Gold thinks about his friends and family... He thinks about Sophia and Alex... He thinks about Yulia and Irina, Lilly and Ness... He thinks about Raddie and Skunky, Eden and Upsilon... He thinks about Zeta and Angel, Night and Void... He thinks about every single one of them...
3, 2...
He smiles, and closes his eyes... Happy for once in his life... "I accept this fate..."

The ship then explodes in a fireball of pure deep void energy, killing Gold and the entirety of the Blackened. Void investigates the explosion to see the dark red remains of the Blackened, but Gold's corpse is not seen...
