Crossing The Border

"Hey i was wondering if i can come with you guys to escape, i mean i have wanted to for a long time but i just never wanted to do it alone" Tom says blushing

"Sure i don't see why not but we have to leave now" Nathan whispers with urgency in his voice

We leave the cafe with Tom and catch a cab to the nearest hotel to stay for the night.

When we got in the cab i got in the cab i let it drive for a second then i turned around and saw the suited guy come out of the cafe and flag down a cab. Now i definitely knew he was following us and i had to tell Nathan soon or something bad could happen.

We arrived at the hotel and got the last room available. We open the door to the room. One double bed.

We decide that Nathan and i will sleep on the double bed and Tom will sleep on a pull out bed that a neighbour had kindly given to us.

After settling in i brush my hair with a brush that i had found in one of the drawers of the bathroom cabinets. My long, bright orange hair matches the pale orange freckles on my face, arms and legs.

"Nathan i need to tell you something"

"Sure Giz"

"Please don't panic but we are being followed, i saw a suited man at the train station, then he got on the same carriage as us, then he got off at the last stop with us, then he went to a cafe across the road from us and he kept staring at us, then he left seconds after we did in a cab that stopped at the same hotel as us. I think he knows that we are supposed to die i think he knows we left the test." I burst into tears while blurting this out

"Its ok but i wish you had have told me sooner but its fine we will leave at midnight and go to a different hotel then in the morning we will cross the border and go back to our old town." He says this while writing down a map of where to go.

Midnight comes.

We are on the second floor so we grabbed all the sheets, tied them together and climb down with Nathan going first, me second and Tom last. Once at the bottom we walked to the road and waited for a taxi to come by. I looked at the hotel and all the rooms with their lights off.

Except one.

I saw the suited guy staring out the window at us.

"Nathan don't look straight away but the guy who is following us is staring out the window at us so just laugh with me and make it obvious that we are laughing then look around at the hotel then at his room and turn around, so that we are not making it obvious that are talking about him"

Tom and Nathan did exactly that.

"I remember that guy he followed me when i first left i was really creeped out but i got away from him eventually" Tom said with a serious face

We arrived at the new hotel and there was no sign of the suited guy. This time the room had 3 single beds but it was a really crappy looking hotel room but i guess it didn't matter we were only going to be here for 7 hours then we have to leave to cross the border before people start going into town.

7 am comes and we leave the hotel and catch a cab to the middle of town where the border is just 100 meters away, this is the same place we crossed when we first came to the town nobody really knows about it because it is covered by vines.

We walk through the vines making sure no one is watching. Everywhere you look there is luscious green forest everywhere its one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen. We walk for about 100 hundred meters when i hear something moves that sounded larger than a lizard, i turn around and i see nothing but i feel a bit scared especially as I'm walking at the back of the line.

*scream*

I screamed as loud as i could.
