All Those Moments

Introduction

Champions Trophy 2013 marked a new era in the history of Indian cricket. The selectors took the bold decision of dropping veterans like Gambhir, Sehwag, Harbhajan, Zaheer, and Yuvraj had cancer, and Sachin had retired from ODIs.

The team, to be honest, gave us all a heart attack, because it looked so new.

Rohit Sharma: He had played for India a lot, but he was never a regular

Shikhar Dhawan: He had made a super Test debut (187) earlier that year, so it was natural to try him

Ravindra Jadeja: He had impressed in the Border Gavaskar trophy too...so he deserved it?

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: A young thin pacer, made his debut last December, and he was still so new

Ravichandran Ashwin: Yes, he had been a part of the team earlier, but never was he the most experienced bowler before

Kohli and Dhoni were still there. But the overall look was so different, so new.

No one would ever have guessed that this bizarre team would win the heart of every single Indian fan in the coming 6 years...

Additions later included Rahane, Shami Bumrah, Hardik, Rahul, Kuldeep and Chahal, who are an integral part of the Men in Blue today.

India, in the last few years, has dominated world cricket like never before. The 2016-17 home season was a roaring success, but the best part was the 2018-19 season, consisting almost entirely of foreign tours.

And India emerged victorious in many of them.

India finished no 1 in Tests and no 2 in ODIs. India is, without a doubt, in a golden phase of history.

And this team who gave us this... they're not arrogant jerks, they're not inhuman cheating bastards like the dominant Aussies were.

This team is so delightfully human, their bonding is of the next level altogether, they've given us so many adorable moments to cherish and so many memories for us to love them forever.
