CHAPTER 1
I woke up, the sunlight penetrating the leaves of the dense forest. Squinting my eyes, it came to my knowledge that I'm still alive.
"Wow!", I thought to myself. "I survived this fall."
My stepfather must have think that I'm dead. Little did he know in this part of Earth do I existed.
I remembered the repeated nights of him sexually abusing me. I yelled and yelled for help but nobody was present to help me. My stepfather's filthy fingers lingered from my head to toe. I couldn't resist his bull strength. I was like a sheep being preyed by a wolf. Tears filled my eyes to the brim and overflowed. The floodgates were opened. However, my stepfather showed no respect over my soul. He plugged his stick into me and I vociferated as the excruciating pain surged up my spine. I just wanted to die. My stepmother was working overnights as usual. Once, I brought it up to my stepmother but she wouldn't believe me.
My stepfather threatened to kill me if I divulge any of that incidents again. Every morning, I had to pretend to behave normally. After my stepmother has gone off to work, my teachers will come to my mansion. Stepfather's a C.E.O., all he did was to stay at home to earn money. I had no chance to go to public school like other kids.
Months have passed and I could not take it anymore. I tried to escape from the house while everyone's sleeping. I took a deep breath and sprinted as fast as I could. His bodyguards gave chase all the way. Down the eerie terrain, I had two left feet and tumbled down the slippery cliff.
I could not comprehend why did he do that to me! Well, though adopted, I'm his daughter! I cried as I thought back about those nightmares. I did not want to go back to the house anymore.
With all ounce of energy, I stood up and staggered off. "I need to find out where my real parents are," I told myself.
