Running.

We were running as fast as we can till our legs can't carry us anymore but that didn't stop us.

We were too afraid to be put back to that shitty place.

It was pouring rain. Rocks and twigs scattered the ground which made us trip and fall.

Finally after minutes of running we didn't even realized that we stepped on to the vast, asphalt road. We felt a wave of euphoria hit us knowing that we were finally away from that hell of a place. But as some people say happiness doesn't last long...

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

I woke up with sweat dripping down my face. Suddenly, I felt a hot, throbbing pain in my head. At first I didn't recognize the place, but as soon as the nurse spoke, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

"Where's my brother?!" I asked sitting up with a shaky voice and a panicked expression.

"He is in the operation room. He's currently in a bad state." the nurse replied with a bored tone and without even showing any sympathy.

The nurse looked old with her grumpy face and wrinkled skin.

"Where's my brother?! I need to see him!" I yelled infuriated while sweating blood. The nurse didn't even panic. She just injected a sedative into my IV. Within seconds the sedative started to take effect and took me into a void of darkness.

A white blinding light surrounded me by the time I woke up. I looked around and noticed the not-so-white walls with paint chipping off of it. Dirty floors with visible, dirty footprints. And also, the cheap looking furniture. It now registered in my mind that I was in an old public hospital.

"Oh, you're finally awake." said a voice next to me.

As I looked at him, I felt something odd. He looks like he was in his mid thirties and he had that look in his eyes that could make the hairs on my neck stand up. It was kinda weird, because I didn't notice him enter the room nor did I feel his presence.

"I'm Dr. Zeus. I am your assigned doctor." Dr. Zeus said like he told that to every patient at the hospital.

"I know, I can see it on your name tag." I told him in an uninterested manner. I'm still angry at the fact that they didn't even inform me to what had happened to my brother.

"I'm going to be straight. Your brother's in a coma." Dr. Zeus said bluntly. I didn't reply because I was stricken with shock knowing that my brother is in a very serious situation. And before I know it, I started yelling.

"I need to see him! Let me see him!" I yelled aloud. I started thrashing around, flailing my legs and arms.

"Enough! If you want to see your brother, we will. Just relax and calm down." Dr. Zeus said with serious voice. He sounded like he didn't want to deal with any of his patients' shit. I didn't speak. I just relaxed and calmed down. I knew if I didn't follow his order, I would be put back to sleep again.

"Before we go, I still have a lot to tell you." Dr. Zeus said pushing his eyeglasses closer to his forehead.

"After you get released here, you're going back to the orph-." Before he finished his sentence, I yelled.

"No! Definitely, NO!" I started to throw tantrums like I was a 4 year old child.

"Do you want to sleep or to be quiet?" said Dr. Zeus, testing my patience. But, the feeling of wanting to see my brother took control, so I just chose to be quiet.

"Good, you know how to listen. Okay, lets get to the point. Your brother has a low chance of waking up again, so don't get your hopes high. He is only given 1 year. If he doesn't wake up by then, we would have to remove the machines. Sorry to say this but, removing the machines means removing his life." he said it like he wanted to do it now. It made me infuriated that he would want to just give up on my brother's life! How dare he!? As the words left his mouth, I snapped. I started seeing red. I didn't know what I was doing. All I knew is that I want to make this excuse-for-a-doctor infront of me suffer to death. So, I removed my IV that was pierced in my posterior. He was about to stop me, but I was much faster than him. I wrapped it tight around his neck. He started to choke and thrash around. I stabbed the IV into his cheeks and his left eye. I felt the eyeball pop, making it explode with blood. I can feel him trying to scream, but the lack of air caused his voice to come out as gasps. I also felt my grip around the IV around his neck get tighter and tighter. After minutes of strangling him, he stopped breathing. And that's when I realized that I just killed a person. I loosened my hands around the IV cord and let him fall like a ragdoll. I stood there, alone. I started shaking like I was on a seizure, but I realized: Why should I feel remorse? Some people are evil and much more cruel. So why can't I?

"AAAAAHHHHH!" someone yelled from the door. Oh shit! I need to run. I slammed hard to my bedroom door and started running through the corridors, dodging obstacles. Then, I realized something. What about my brother? Who's gonna take care of him?

"There she is!" I looked behind and saw 3 different hospital crew chasing after me. So I ran faster and saw the exit sign. I ran and ran for dear life.

I will come back for you brother.

I will come back and I promise that,

I will avenge you.
