I lean back against the taxis cold window as I watch the rain drops fall down against the window watching them fall one by one racing each other just to fall down and hit the ground. I can't believe I finally got out of that house.

That house was not always full of self inflicting hatred and loneliness. Once it was warm with love and full of creativity. My mother was an artist she has amazing at what she did. Downtown she had a art studio full of her beautiful creations. She was at art shows constantly she even taught a adult art class at her studio on Saturdays. She wasn't a struggling artist but she wasn't famous. My dad was a construction worker for a little known company he did not make a tremendous amount of money however, we had more than enough to get by. My mom would come home everyday around 8 o'clock and my dad at 5 o'clock. He would often sit in his recliner waiting for her. That recliner was not anything special it was a drab recliner with frayed edges that smelled of aftershave and smoke. But, for some odd reason he loved that thing. He would turn his head upon her arrival they never fought and where what you could call the perfect after story of a princess. Expect for us there was no happily ever after if there was it would of been torn vigorously apart by now. One day mum never returned home she vanished two days later they found her at the bottom of a river dead. No one knows why or how this awful crime occurred all I knew was that the innocent pay they pay for the evil. No matter what you do you are going to pay for someones evil. When dad got the news he lost it little by little. He became a horrible alcoholic drowning his pain it beer after beer. Then he became angry his eyes became evil full of strong malice towards no one. Then he became mean he became violent hurting me with out thinking blaming me for the pain that we both suffered on me. Then came the drugs and even more violence abuse I only grew self hatred for me I hardly ate at all of course he never noticed. I am long past that now I going to start over and forget it.
