"I'm going to be late!" I called, rushing down the stairs after Damon. "Please drive me!" Since Damon tried to eat me, and i was stuck at his house, my car was still at the apartment complex.
"Fine" he gave in, turning toward the door. A knock at the door made me pause, and Damon opened the door. A teenager stood in front of us, brown eyes stared back at me. She seemed surprised to see me, but she turned to Damon.
"Is Stefan here?" She asked.
"Upstairs" Damon answered, pushing to get passed her. Taking one last look at the girl, I followed after Damon. "It'll probably be safer for you to not be here anyway" Damon turned back to me. "With Vicki here and all."
*****Running inside the tattoo parlor, I sat my bag down on a chair.
"Wow" Clark spoke, drawing my attention toward him. He stood with his arms crossed, and I held my breath in fear he would call me out on being late. "Just on time" he cracked a smile. I let out a sigh of relief, and mentally thanked Damon. If it wasn't for his crazy driving and quick reflects, I would've surely been late. "So your job is to give clients tattoos. I got the peircings."
"Okay, got it" I nodded.
"Now, we aren't usually busy. So, when we don't have any clients in you can do whatever you want" he shrugged.
*****It was already around 2:30 pm, and we only had one client. Except he wanted a piercing, so I sat and drew in my notebook. A female walked in, and walked over to Clark. I waited as she checked in.
"Danica, she's yours" Clark informed, causing me to smile and stand up. I sat her down in a chair.
"So you're getting a tattoo?" I asked.
"Yeah, I was hoping you could do something like this" she held her phone up, showing me the picture. It was two snakes, one black and one white.
"Yeah, I could do that" I assured. "Just sit back and relax."
******"This looks amazing" the customer spoke, smiling down at her forearm.
"I'm glad you like it" I smiled. "Now if you go over to Clark, he can get you out of here."
****"Hey, I'm picking you up" Damon spoke into the phone. "Now."
"That's fine" I replied, looking up at the clock. "My shift is over anyway."
"Great. I'm outside" Damon said, making pick up my pace.
"Bye Clark" I waved, walking toward the door.
"Bye kiddo. See you tomorrow" he called out as I walked out the door.
"What happened?" I asked, seeing Damon impatiently waitimg for me.
"Stefan may or may mot have killed Vicki" Damon replied, opening the passenger side door for me before going around and climbing in himself.
"He did what?" I asked incredulously.
"In his defense, Vicki was going to kill Elena" Damon defended his brother.
"Elena as in... The brunette that showed up at the house this morning?" I asked.
"Exactly" Damon nodded, driving down the road.
"Are they a thing or something?" I asked.
"Yup" Damon answered.
"Does she know he's a vampire?"
"Yes" Damon sighed exasperated as he pulled into the high school.
"He killed her at the school? With an event going on?" I asked.
"You ask a lot questions" Damon spoke, quickly climbing out of the car. I followed him, almost having to run to keep up. We ended up in the back of the school, next the school buses. Elena was on her knees next to a gray and veiny, Vicki. "You should leave" Damon spoke to Elena. "I got this."
"This is your fault" Elena glared up at Damon, completely ignoring my presence.
"You mistake me for someone with remorse" Damon bit back. I furrowed my eyebrows, not exactly believing the act.
"You pretend it doesn't matter" Elena spoke, angrily standing up. "It matters and you know it." She went to slap him, but Damon caught her hand.
"Damon..." I trailed off, feeling the anger roll off of him in waves. Damon slowly let go of her hand, glaring at her.
"I wouldn't try that again" Damon spoke calmly. She completely ignored him, making contact with his face. I stepped between the two, keeping my eyes on Damon. I knew he was dangerous, but I felt the sense of safety with him.
"Damon" I whispered, placing a hand on his shoulder, causing his glare toward Elena to falter.
"You need to leave" his eyes flickered back to Elena. "Your wounds are bleeding, and you need to leave." I heard Elena back away, before she was gone. I let out a sigh of relief, and lowered my hand.
"Um..." I trailed off, hoping to make a joke to lighten the mood. "I don't have to help you with this..." I pointed to Vicki. "Right?"
"No" Damon smirked. "I'll drop you off at the house and then bury her."
"Sounds like a plan" I smiled. "At least now I don't have to watch my back 24/7."
