As the black Mercedes pulled up to the pack drive I couldn't help but feel the lump in the throat grow bigger and bigger with each step I took, little Melony couldn't help but sniff the air around her and get excited at the thought of seeing her grandparents after so long.
I opened the old oak wood doors slowly trying not to make much sound as I entered, nothing had changed the big stone entrance was still the same as before, the grand columns still stood holding the ceiling in place as the snake like wood slide up the stairs forming the banister. just as I had finished taking in the view all I heard was a crashing sound as I turned round to look I found my darling angel daughter standing over a broken china vase.
"who's in the house?" screamed the one person I thought I could avoid for another hour... my mother " hey mum, its your two favourite people and it wasn't the oldest fault that your vase is broke" I replied, slowly flinching as I spoke my last words, " omg is my baby girl back with her bitch of a mother" she said as she strutted round the corner of the kitchen to the entrance hall, her dress sense hadn't changed either.
her blonde hair was still in a 1950s look as her dress screamed I'm a home wife with no social life as I sit in the kitchen baking and cleaning all day, the only thing that had changed was her shoes she no longer had the heels that made women fight for, instead she was wearing blue Adidas trainers, which for once her shoes actually suited her personality, lively and bitchy. " hi mum, melony was the one that broke your vase but I love you too, your shoes suit you, where's dad?" I spoke as I tried to avoid eye contact with her like I was a 8 year old girl again " he's in his study I'm guessing you've only come back because you realised your daughter would be better here with her grandma and her grandpa" she spoke as she picked up Melony before walking into the kitchen and forgot I existed " urm ill take my bags to my old room and go see dad then" I shouted to her before throwing the bags on my back and walking up the single flight of stairs.
As I entered my old room, I remembered the last time I was in here, when I had just given birth to little Melony, with my father clutching my hand tightly so I knew that he was there and that I wasn't alone while my mum was out with the betas daughter taking her clothes shopping and taking her for star bucks, instead of staying in there and reminiscing the past I left the bags just inside the door and walked to my fathers office, the walk was a short one and as I approached the door I smelt the one thing I knew made the journey worth it, " where's the sugar doughnuts father darling" I said as I walked through the door without asking, " have you ever thought of knocking before just walking in?" he questioned as he put a sugar doughnut to his lips. I chuckled before grabbing a doughnut and having a seat across from him " so which packs have you united and which ones do you need my help to unite" i replied ignoring his remark of knocking.
I know it's a short chapter and I apologise I'm just getting into writing so I apologise again for it dragging on it will pi k up a little more.
