It wasn't long until we found ourselves on the so familiar road that connects our two houses together. I've always loved living outside the city, everything was so calm out here. Almost no cars running through, the air so clean you could sit outside the porch for hours and just look at the fields surrounding you. When Noah and I were younger we used to hide in the corn fields and Mom had to look for us. Shortly before she caught us we'd start running until she couldn't see us anymore and hide again. This peaceful game went on for hours.
But there was nothing peaceful about fields right now. Rain was pouring down heavily, crying sounds from the backseat were resounding around the car while the noise behind us got louder with every second.
I felt like I was in one of these cheesy movies you'd see on television where the catastrophes are always following the main character. Oh how often Sam and I laughed about storyline like this but never in a million years would I have thought I'd once be the main character in my own catastrophe movie.
My thoughts were disrupted by Andrew who suddenly started screaming for his parents, his finger pointing frantically at the windshield.
Following his finger was probably the worst decision I could make in this situation but I did. And what I saw is still hunting me to this day.
Luisa and Charles Merisen hectically waved their arms around as they saw our car approaching, it looked like they tried to chase away an unpleasant cockroach.
We quickly found what they meant with their gestures, the car suddenly started shaking and the rear part of the car was picked up by the Tornado that was way too near now. Sam tried to speed away but it was already too late, there was no way for us to escape from this misery.

I've never been so scared in my life before because I knew this was the end. All my thoughts circled around my mom and how I'll never be able to see her again. My brother in the back seat who was too young to die. And I thought about myself, how I've taken my life for granted. How hours ago my biggest problem was trying to stay awake in history class.
I turned around to look at my screaming brother as the car was thrown into the air and all I could do was whisper an I love you.

It felt like the car hit something and everything around me went black...

'Paige... Paige please wake up'

I heard a familiar voice followed by hands shaking my body.

'How long has she been unconscious?' a Woman asked.

'I don't know, maybe a few minutes... Mum we need to do something'

'Take your brother and the Evans boy. I'll take care of her. We need to leave now' a Man yelled.

I wanted to move but my head was hurting so bad, leaving me incapacitated. All I could do was let out a whine as I felt arms around my body picking me up before I slowly drifted into unconsciousness again.
