"If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you're allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind."

― Shannon L. Alder

"What am I going to do? I am going to kill her. She needs to pay for her faults. I now can do whatever I want, because now, I get my revenge. Because now, I have control."

Chapter Twelve: Control

"Abby, do...do you really think that getting revenge will solve this issue?" I hear Blake ask as he rushed up to stop me.

"W-what do you mean?" I asked slowly loosening my grip on Jess,

"NO!" Jess yells,

"ABBY WAIT...I-I know that she has done extremely deleterious, hurtful and harmful things, but I don't think that getting revenge like that will do any good," he answered,

"Blake, I have trusted her my whole life and then I find out that she does this to me. Why would even you think that I wouldn't want revenge right now? She is the reason your brother is dead!" I said feeling my heart ache,

"You can't try and hurt someone by getting revenge because you'll end up hurting yourself," He said back, "It's like what Shannon Alder once said, If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you're allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind."

"There you go again with the quotes. You don't understand it like me. I want her to pay for what she has done. To my life and others around me." I try to talk but get interrupted,

"Abby, I care about you too much to see you hurt again. I'd do anything to protect you... because-"

"Because you love her?" Issac finishes his sentence, "Yeah yeah, we know, we know."

"Shut up Issac, I'm trying to say something."Blake grunts, "Abby, I've wanted to say this for so long now. What I wanted to say is."

I feel my heart pounding harder as I hear Blake say, "I love you, Abby," I feel tears go down my face and I decide to help Jess up. I didn't want to do this, but it was the right thing to do. As soon as she is off the ledge, I let go of her and run to hug Blake. "I'm sorry, Blake," I start crying and embrace him tightly.

"Shh, there-there. It all over now. I'm proud of you, Abby, You did the right thing." Blake says happily,

"Blake," I look up to him and say, "I love you too," and he kisses me.
