This os is a sequel to my previous story "MY FAULT".

1 year had passed since she left the house...she left him. Whom was he kidding? She didn't leave him; he made her leave him only to prove his mother that he was her son, not what other people said...a step son; only to make his mother happy. But was he happy himself?

For the past 1 year his mother had been reminding him, almost every day, that he needed to prove himself as her son. He even removed all of her stuff from their room to the store room as instructed by his mother. Only a tiny photograph of his wife was there inside his wallet at which he looked everyday only to be drowned more in guilt. Of course his mother didn't know that.

His chain of thoughts was broken by his mother. "Prem, you aren't ready yet. Won't you come?" she asked not really interested.

"No ma, I have some office work you carry on", Prem replied back.

"Ok, as you wish but beta we would be really happy if you could come", Gayatri voiced her wish and left his room.

Well today there was a party....party for his younger brothers-Preet and Harman. Preet's success as he cracked a very important deal and Harman's success as a successful lawyer, led Gayatri to throw this lavish party for her two sons. Though he wished he could go there but he knew his so called mother really didn't want him to come there. Besides there were people who would ask questions regarding Heer and his mother would tell them how proud she was on her eldest son who, in spite of not being her own son, left his wife to fulfill his mother's wish. And it did bother him too much. He knew Heer was not at fault so how could he listen to so many allegations which the people put on his Heer. So he stopped attending such parties or any kind of social gatherings.

Actually he kind of distanced himself from the world. He spent most of his time in the office and came home late at night fully aware that no one would wait for him. Yes, no one; not even his elder sister Kulraj because she no longer lived here.

Kulraj left the house with her husband Kiran and her three children 1 week after Heer's departure. She and Gayatri had a heated argument when she confronted Gayatri about her behavior towards Heer and Gayatri said the same words that she told Heer, i.e., to leave the house. Lalit tried to stop them but the effort went in vain. They lived in the town in a small house which was sufficient enough for them. Kiran tried to leave Juneja Hotels but couldn't refuse Lalit's request.

He came out of his thinking process by the ringing of his phone. He picked up and was greeted with a cheerful Kulraj.

Prem : What happened Kul di? You are sounding really happy.

Kulraj : Yes, Prem. Do you remember the dance competition in which Tanu participated last month?

Prem : Yes.

"Guess what? She has been selected for the final round and for that she is going to Delhi", Kulraj informed cheerfully.

"Wow! that's great", Prem replied really happy for his niece.

"I know that's great but that's not the only reason I am calling you", Kulraj said.

"Then for what"? Prem asked curiously.

"Well Vikash and Ketan's exams are there so I can't go with her and neither can Kiran as he is, at present, working on an important project. That's why you have to accompany her", Kulraj gave her reason.

"Of course di. Ye bhi koi kehne ki baat hai. I will accompany her to Delhi. Waise kab jaana hai?" Prem inquired.

Kulraj : Tomorrow morning sharp at 8. Final is after 1 week but in this one week they will give the contestant new choreographers and costumes according to their acts. So they would need the contestant's measurements.

"Ok di, no problem. I will be there on time", Prem assured her and hung up the phone. Finally 1 week he could really live.

Next day Prem and Tanu boarded the flight at 9 O'clock and reached Delhi at 11. The contestants had to live in the academy where they would stay and have their daily practice. So Prem dropped Tanu in the academy where the other children were and headed to the hotel provided for the guardians to take some rest.

After the lunch Prem decided to check on Tanu once. So he went to the academy with other guardians. As soon as he reached there the choreographers informed them that the next day they will be going to the designer's office for the costumes so everybody should be on time.

Next day all the guardians and contestants along with their choreographers went to the designer for the trial of their costumes and were greeted by a young enthusiastic friendly woman of 24-25 years, Soni Malhotra. She talked with the choreographers about their acts and then divided the contestants into 6 groups having 2 children who would be allotted one specific designer.

"So, Tanu and Sangeeta , I will give my best designer to you, ok"??she said cheerfully and dialed a number.

"Please come to my cabin", she instructed the person.

All the while Prem was just scrutinizing the room when suddenly the wind blew harder and he felt SHE was near. Yes it had to be HER...HIS HEER. It couldn't be his illusion. He felt her fragrance in the air.

And there she entered draped in a light blue saree with hairs open. She has changed a bit...actually a lot, in these past 1 year. She was not the Heer he knew. Though she looked as beautiful as before but the sparkle in her eyes was missing. The shine of joy and liveliness were not there anymore and he knew he was the reason behind it.

His chain of thoughts was broken by Soni's voice. "Heer, these are the two kids Tanu and Sangeeta for whom you have to design the dresses", Soni completed.

No sooner had Tanu turned her face Heer frozed at her place. "Tanu", Heer managed to whisper.

"Heer mami", Tanu screamed and immediately launched herself into her mami's arms. Heer seemed startle a bit. She didn't expect that was coming. Till then she didn't notice Prem either. That little kid recognized her mami, he thought and smiled.

"Mami"? both Soni and the other guardian asked in utter confusion.

"She must have mistaken. I mean may be I look like her mami that's why...", Heer tried to clear the confusion and it seemed that both the other parties were quite convinced. Tanu was a little kid after all and she could do such mistakes so no big deal.

"It's ok, no problem. Bachche hain galtiyan hoti rehti hai. Btw Heer, he is Mr. Anand Chaudhry, Sangeeta's father", Soni introduced the first guardian to Heer and she greeted him with a handshake.

"And there he is Mr. Prem Juneja, Tanu's uncle", Soni finished the other guardian's introduction and Heer immediately turned towards the window. There HE is...standing by the window all handsome as well. But wait, today there something is lacking. He looked pale and lonely.

No Heer, don't give in, her rational mind warned her and immediately the memories of that dreadful day flashed in front of her eyes. But soon she was snapped out of her thoughts when she felt a voice was calling her. She looked at her left and realized that Soni was calling her.

"Heer where were you? I have been calling you for almost 10 minutes", Soni told her.

"No, nothing. I was just...leave it..you tell", she proposed not knowing what to say.

"Ok, so I was telling that we only have 6 days before the final round so hurry up", Soni reminded Heer to which she nodded and immediately left the place.

From the moment he had seen her he was finding a chance to talk to her...just one chance. But seemed she didn't even want his shadow to cross her path. She avoided him in every possibly way she could. 4 days have passed and his restlessness was increasing. He informed Kulraj and Kiran about Heer and they had advised him to talk to her. He himself wanted the same thing but not getting a chance. But not today; he had decided that today he would talk to her at any cost.

"Heer", a voice called her and she stopped at her track. She turned and saw him standing in front of her...face to face in the parking area of her building.

"What is he doing here?" she thought.

"I need to talk to you. Please don't ignore me, please", pleaded the voice.

"We have nothing to talk Prem", she replied avoiding his gaze.

"I have", he sounded determine.

Heer didn't want to create a scene in the parking area which will soon be filled with other people who would come here to park their car. So she invited him to her flat. They got inside her flat and immediately the next question that greeted him was "What do you want Prem, now"?

"I am sorry Heer" he replied looking straight into her eyes.

"Thik hai maaf kiya", she smiled and replied.

"Like that?" He asked being confused.

"Then what should I do?" she asked.

"Heer you should scold me. You should be angry with me like anything. You should slap me, beat me anything you want" he sounded desperate.

"But why, why should I do any of these?"

"Because I was wrong and you know that".

'No I only know that I was wrongly accused of a crime I could never dream of doing. You know what Prem since the day I left the house I had kept asking myself what wrong I had done to deserve that", she broke down in front of him not being able to control anymore.

"Heer I...", he couldn't complete as Heer cut him off.

"Please chale jao yaha se Prem, tumhe meri kasam", she almost whispered.

Prem stood numb there. This was not supposed to happen. He was sure he could pacify her but her swear; he couldn't break it. He looks at her one last time and with that he left without any argument. That night neither Prem nor Heer slept a bit.

Since that day Prem hadn't seen her. He had to apologize for his behaviour but she never showed up. The final round of the competition ended and Tanu became the first runner up. And they leave for Ambala.
