2 YEARS LATER
[Lanys and Peter are sitting on a round table in the yard of their Middle School and they are both playing cards. Peter lays down his cards and says]
Peter: twenty-one. I win.
[Peter raises his hands in victory and Lanys looks sternly at him]
Lanys: You're cheating.
Peter: No, I'm not. I'm not even dealing the cards, you are.
Lanys: I don't know how, but you are.
Peter: You are such a bad loser.
Lanys: No, I'm not.
Peter: Look at your face, you can't stand that I'm better at card games than you.
[Lanys stays quiet and starts shuffling the cards again]
Lanys: One day, I'll find out how you did it.
Peter: (sarcastically) sure.
[Lanys keeps shuffling the cards, but looks straight at Peter which has a big smile on his face]
Peter: It's good to be the King.
Lanys: Aja...so, in two weeks we finally graduate from Middle School.
Peter: Yeah, the years went fast here.
Lanys: Yeah, I remember when you were chubby.
Peter: You are just being nice, admit it I was fat.
[Lanys smiles]
Lanys: Yeah, just a little bit.
Peter: A little bit? I looked like Barney the Dinosaur.
[Lanys starts laughing]
Lanys: Hahaha! I suddenly imagine you being all purple.
Peter: I know and me signing..."I love you"....would've been a hit.
Lanys: I don't think so.
Peter: By the way, thanks Lanys.
Lanys: (confused) for?
Peter: Because of you I lost all that extra weight.
Lanys: (confused) what do you mean?
Peter: Well, everything we did these last few years. Running back and forth, riding bikes and just playing around, helped out a lot.
Lanys: (smiling) it was the best part of these past years.
Peter: So...after graduation, are you going to the dance?
Lanys: Probably...
Peter: Well, I'm thinking of asking Marie to the dance.
Lanys: Marie? Really? Isn't that the girl that you asked out and only went out with you because you gave her gifts and was only interested in gifts and you paying stuff for her?
[Peter puts on a thinking face]
Peter: Hmmm...
Lanys: You know it's true.
Peter: Yeah, but...
Lanys: (interrupts) no. Think of someone else.
Peter: How about Brittany?
