The sun began to set as Lela, Janet, Layla, Kaylee, and I sat inside a diner, talking and eating. Though, I lost my appetite half way through my food and let Lela eat the rest.

We've spent the entire day together and I've enjoyed every second of it. We left the house around three and shopped until six and stopped at the diner to get some food.

They've helped me clear my mind for a while and I'll always be grateful for them. I'm so glad I met them.

"We should go to the carnival." Kaylee suggested as I sipped some of my lemonade. "Tomorrow is the last day."

"No! We should go watch a movie." Layla argued. Janet and I looked at one another before leaning back and watching them argue. "The carnival is crowded with annoying kids."

"I think we should do karaoke." Lela jumped in and they continued to argue for another five minutes.

We ended up settling on going to the carnival. Lela said she was planning on scaring some little kids while Kaylee lectured her and told her not to do it.

Then, we all argued over who's paying the bill until we came to an agreement to just split it.

We left the diner and got into the car, putting our seatbelts on as Janet drove us towards the carnival. Lela controlled the aux and we blasted music as we sang and laughed when someone got the lyrics wrong.

As soon as we got to the carnival, I felt the immediate joy. I haven't been to a carnival in so long and it brings back old memories of coming here with my friends.

Colorful lights hung all around and the lights on the rides glowed too, making the place look bright and all fun. Families are all around, laughing and looking like they're having a good time. It brought a small smile to my lips as I looked around, remembering when I came here with my siblings and friends once.

"Can we get cotton candy first?" Layla asked as we paid for our VIP access passes so we can enter the rides faster.

"After the rides maybe. We already ate and I don't want to get puked on by anyone." Janet suggested and Kaylee nodded.

"That one! Let's go on it first!" Lela said, smiling widely as she pointed to one of the rides. They all disagreed with her and she turned to me with puppy dog eyes.

"Fine." I agreed with a sigh and she hugged me before grabbing my hand.

Kaylee said that we'd meet by the cotton candy stand in three hours or to text if we want to meet up earlier and I nodded before Lela dragged me off with her.

"What if we slip off and die?" Lela said as we waited in the shorter line because of our passes.

"Please don't put those thoughts in my head." I sighed and she chuckled, intertwining our fingers.

"Don't you think it would be fun though? Not the dying part. The part where we'll be in the air falling." Lela commented and I shook my head. "I want to go skydiving. We should go one day."

"Me too." I admitted even though the thought of skydiving kind of terrifies me.

Soon, the ride came to a stop and the people got off. The workers gestured the people in our line first before allowing the people in the other line on.

"This is great. I've always loved the boat ride." Lela said, making us sit in the very back.

"My favorite is that one." I pointed to the red roller coaster across the carnival.

"That one has a big drop. We should go on it next." She replied and I nodded, smiling.

Once they checked that everyone was ready, the boat began to move.
