I have seen quite a few YouTube videos that say that Pansexual is a synonym for bisexual and some that even say that pansexual should be taken out of the LGBT+ community. Pansexuality is a part of many people's identity-including mine. I identify as pansexual. If you believe that pan and bi are the same, I get it. When I was questioning, I thought that I should just identify as bi since I had experienced attraction to all different people. I think two boys, three girls, and one non-binary individual. But, I thought that I was bi despite being attracted to three genders. And this non-binary person was truly non-binary to the point that when I met them (and I hadn't met any other non-binary people before them) I couldn't tell what their current or biological gender or sex was. I was attracted to a boy, a girl, and a non-binary individual. Three different gender expressions.
Now for those of you who don't know, bi and pan are two LGBT+ identities. Bisexual and biromantic mean attraction to two different genders, most often men and women. Pansexual and panromantic mean attraction to everyone regardless of gender. The difference is an attraction to more than two genders in pan. There are three different genders, and as I said, I have had attraction to all three as pan. Some people argue that they are the same because, "All non-binary people have some sort of masculine or feminine trait," and sometimes that is true. But sometimes, you cannot sense any masculine or feminine gender expression or sense of original gender. This means that being pan means that you are not attracted to gender, but personality, while being bi means that you are attracted to two gender expressions, often masculine and feminine, and still judge based on more than personality.
Thank you for reading this rant to the end, and I hope someone out there learned something about identities, and maybe their own.
