chapter 1

(Piya's POV)
Love! Love is such a foolish thing.
I swore I will never let my heart to fall in love with someone else . Because I had lost all hopes, about love,  and trust. I refuse to believe that a woman like me deserve to be loved. I waited for my turn at the ticketing booth with my  luggage by my side and a broken heart.

I was supposed to spend the long holidays on cruise ship. Perhaps, it was fate that brought me here. If I wasn't so naive, I wouldn't be hurt like this . Did I  do something bad in my  previous birth that I had to suffer now?

Seven years were wasted . For God's sake! I waisted seven years with him just to find out he was a cheating bastard that slept around behind my back! How did he managed to fool me  for so long  , I had no idea!

Why didn't I  sees the signs earlier ? Because I was blind and naive!

We didn't have enough time for each other because I thought we were busy with our  respective jobs. We had stopped having dinners together because he said he didn't have time. He was always coming home late because of working overtime.

No, he didn't have time for me  because he was with her. He was busy taking her to dinners while I spent the night alone. And he even came home late because he was having her.

Oh God how foolish I could be ?

I felt like crying and dying at the same time. We had known each other since childhood, and he cheated on me with my ' best friend ' whom I treated like a sister. How could the two of them betray my  trust ? Nisha was the one who put me to date with jeh khurana.  I felt like I  was slapped hard on my face.

My  boyfriend for seven years was sleeping with my best friend.

I specifically asked for a day off to surprise my boyfriend before we go on our  one week vacation , but I didn't expect that I would be the one getting surprised when I returned  home .

The moment I stepped in our shared apartment,  I stopped on my tracks , hearing a woman's voice screaming her boyfriend's name. Curious and afraid of what I had walked in to , I silently walked upstairs and turned the knob of our bedroom door , only to find Jeh and Nisha tangled in a dance as old as time itself.

Their screams of pleasure turned into horror when the two saw me standing in door way . To save myself from further pain and trauma , I slammed the door close and ran downstairs ,   taking  my prepared suitcase . I ran outside our apartment and hailed a cab.

I can hear them shouting for me to stop and listen , but why would I bother to do that ? To hear more lies? Not gonna happen.  I had seen enough,  and there is no need to talk about it.

There was no other explanation for the scenario I walked on. I wasn't blind and surely not hallucinating when I saw Jeh screwing my best friend on our own bed that night. It's been almost ten hours since I left my place, and I still couldn't forgive myself for being stupid.

"Miss ? It's your turn now." The women behind me pulled me out of my thoughts.  I nodded her thanks and went to the ticketing booth.

"Ah, I would like to refund this ticket , " I asked . "Is it alright ? I accidentally bought two tickets. "

After I refunded the ticket that was supposed to be for my so called ex-boyfriend , I made my own way onto the ship and to my  suit . While unpacking my luggage,  my phone buzzed again. I gave it a quick look before turning it off and throwing it back in my suitcase.

" I will never fall in love again , I swear, " I promised to myself.  I could never  bear to get heart  broken again .

( Writer's POV )
The tears she tried to hold back for the past hours broke out as she let her body fall on bed . She sobbed quietly at her stupidity . It seemed fate wasn't on her side , and her life wouldn't get better .

As an orphan since she was eight and passed from one relative to another , she hadn't know what love was after her parents died . She had no doubt  that after this trip , she would be homeless and jobless.

Jeh khurana owned the apartment they were sharing ,  while her ex - best friend Nisha was her superior at her work place . How the hell would she start here new life without them?
