I had Lacey in my arms, I hugged her tightly, facing away from the fighting going on, another man dressed in all black had jumped out of the car the original guy was about to throw Lacey into the back of.
My focus wasn't on the fighting, the kicking, the punching or the yelling, my focus was on my sister, making sure she wasn't hurt. I rubbed circles round her back, calming her down. She was petrified, as any 5 year old child who was almost kidnapped would of been.
"J-jay I- can't- i cant breathe" she whimpered, her tears dropped onto my shoulder but that was the least of my worries at the moment.
"It's okay Lacey, deep breaths okay" I say calmly. I carefully walk backwards as she was still in my arms. I had reached the short metal fence surrounding our run down house.
I practically had to peel Lacey from my body and place her on her feet. I kneel down to her height and hold her waist gently.
"okay Lacey listen to me" her breathing was still shaky and her sobs were still as loud. "Breathe okay, in... and out..." I breathed with her and it was starting to steady.
"Jay, I-I don't know what happened, he just took me" she sobs, I pull her in for a soft hug and over her shoulder in the distance I see flashing lights and the faint sound of a siren, the cops where here.

I sat on the slim wooden bench that was placed against the stone wall, I was staring at the ground as Tyler paced around the room and Ashton had a grip around the metal bars that separated us from the officers.
That's right, me Tyler and Ashton are currently sat in a holding cell at the police station. Why? because some fucking dick tried to kidnap my baby sister, and thought he could get away with it. I'm not one to get violent often but when it comes to the safety of Lacey, i'd stop at nothing to protect her.
Our parents are not the best of people, they're con artists, alcoholics, drug addicts, most likely to be found sat in a bar completely plastered. Due to the fact they neglected us all from the day each where born, I had to grow up insanely fast, taking care of a newborn at the age of eight while watching out for the 4 year old running around. Then soon another one came and at the age of 12 I was practically raising 3 kids.
Diaper changing, dinner making, making sure Tyler and Ash were doing their homework while teaching Jay to walk. We all grew up like this. It wasn't rare for the social worker to pay a visit and find out our parents where still shitty and keeping us in foster homes, the worry part is that we where all separated.
I hated leaving my 3, 9 and 13 year old brothers alone in a house of strangers, after the age of 13 no foster homes want you so you get sent to a group home full of druggies and alcoholics, much like our parents only younger.
I would never want Lacey to have to live the life us boys had too, she should enjoy her childhood while it lasts. Call me overprotective but if your parents where as bad as mine and your childhood was taken away from you like mine was you'd understand why i'm so protective of her.
We where only in the cell overnight and released the next morning as the same guys who tried to kidnap Lacey had been caught molesting young girls, I didn't even want to imagine the disgusting things they would've done to my baby girl.
We enter the small run down building we called home and I hear quick footsteps getting closer, I then see my precious baby girl, my whole world, I treat Lacey as my own kid and I don't know what id do if something happened to her.
"Natey!!!" she yelled and ran into my arms, I pick her up and spin her around as she giggles in the cute way she does. She then goes on to hug tyler and ash while i go speak to Jay.
"Hey bud, everything okay?" i ask my youngest brother side hugging him.
"yeah, she was a little shaken up last night but i calmed her down, she was asking for you though." he said and I smiled.
"I'm proud of you kid" i say ruffling his hair.
"I'm just glad your back, you know she gets very vicious when she's hungry" he laughs and I nod and chuckle.
I'm glad my family is together again.
