"what do you mean you found someone else?!"

"i'm sorry, james. i'm sure you'll find some other guy."

"bu--!"

thomas pushed james out of the house and slammed the door shut. james stood there, shaking violently as tears flew out of his eyes like salty waterfalls. he was just left with a backpack of important stuff, such as food, water, and a few clothes. james had nowhere to go. he was in shock.

----------------

james walked, walked and walked. walked anywhere, as long as it was far away from that shithole with him. the rain was splashing onto his hair and clothes. tears blend in with the rain quite well. rainy days would usually calm james down, but not today. the city street lights were barely enough to light up the path. his legs started to hurt and wobble, so all he could do was sit against a random building and sob loudly into his hands. the voices came back again. they were worse than last time, always reminding james of him.

"you really thought that he loved you?"

james was ashamed to say yes now.

"they were right. you should really kill yourself. not like thomas would care, right?"

james choked on his sobs before coughing violently. good thing everybody was asleep in their warm beds. after a while he gained control of his breathing for a moment, but not for long, as he already started sobbing again. he sat there for what felt like an eternity, before he heard light footsteps approach him as the rain settled down. he didn't recognise the voice. it wasn't thomas, he doesn't have such a giddy tone.

"mr. madison?"

james tensed up. he shut his eyes tight, still letting out silent sobs.

"james? is that you?"

the person stood there for a moment, before realizing that james was sobbing. they widened their eyes,

"oh my goodness! james, are you alright? did anyone hurt you?"

the person crouched down and hugged james tightly. james was a bit startled, to say the least. when they pulled away, he decided to look up at the person. his red, puffy eyes met his soft, baby blue eyes. the person helped james up.

"its awfully late, mr. madison.."

the person put a hand on james' shoulder.

"are you alone? would you like to stay with me? i can get you clothes.. you'll be safe."

james thought about it for a while. he didn't really recognise the person, but he looked familiar. after some time of thinking, james nodded hesitantly. the person nodded as well and internally let out a sigh of relief as they started walking down the street to the person's house.

"we didn't see eachother for a while, huh mr. madison? i missed you. "

james finally recognised the person. he widened his eyes and mentally slapped himself for forgetting him. he didnt wanna sound rude, so he didnt say anything about that. until he was calm again, he decided to speak.

"..thomas left me."

the person gasped.

"how could he?! oh, im so sorry james!"

they continued to walk. it was probably around 4 a.m now, judging by the sky.

"mr. monroe-.. don't feel sorry, ple--"

so called monroe smiled softly.

"of course i'm going to feel sorry.."

the two walked in comfortable silence, the only thing filling their ears was ligh pattering of the rain.

"how long were you out here?"

monroe asked. james should have known to just shut up, but he needed someone to talk to. anyone.

"since.. since exactly 7:32 p.m."

james himself was surprised that he remembered the exact time thomas kicked him out. the exact time they broke up.

"oh my.. are you cold? i can give you my jacket."

"no, no, i'm really fine."

he wasn't fine.

"are you sure?"

is he sure?

"yeah."

no. nowhere near fine. he didn't wanna bug monroe anyways. the street lights were flickering, immediately giving james a small headache.

"you're always welcome to stay at my place, mr. madison."

james finally smiled in what seemed like 4 days. he can trust this guy.

"thank you.."

the two were quiet the whole walk to the house.
