"By the way, my name is- shh"
"Uh, that's kinda, well, differe-"
"No. I can hear people talking below us" we both went silent, and soon I could hear them too. We inched towards the window, and peered at the scene beneath us. I saw at least 50 men wearing full armour, and about 11 or 12 girls on horseback, who I decided not to mention looked a lot like my new fellow girl, lady thing - the girls, not the thugs. - they must have seen us, because I heard one call out;
"Oi! I see 'em! Up there in the tower!" He had an odd accent, so when he said 'the' is sounded like 'vuh' and when he said 'tower' it sounded like 'towah', which I would've found quite funny, if we weren't barrelling down the other side of the tower.
My companion was either quite strong, or the walls were so old that it was easy to pull some of the crumbling bricks straight out of the wall.
"How will we get down?" Her voice filled with terror, and she looked as pale as the day she entered my humble abode. We uh, just follow me. I was surprised that the new girl hadn't mentioned my excessively long hair yet. Perhaps she didn't notice, or maybe she simply didn't care.
"Uh, just follow my lead, I guess!" I slung my hair over the side of the incision in the wall, and fastened it around a slip knot around a wall hook inside.
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
"Are you CRAZY!?" I'm sure she was trying to sound mad, but her voice shook with terror.
"It's safe, I promise. And anyway, I'm wouldn't want to hurt your pretty face." Whoops.
"You think I'm pretty?"
"I, Uh, ssssss... let's go! We don't have forever!"
Pretty soon, we were hanging from the tower, attempting to traverse the steep, rounded wall of the blasted thing. I made the mistake of looking down, and I suddenly realised the imminent possibility of us falling to our doom. Turns out, I had frozen.
"Are you alright? We've got to keep moving!"
"So high. Can't breathe. Help" I lost all ability to move, or translate any thoughts into sentences.
"It's too late to stop now! We need to keep going!"
"Eheheh hehe haha. WHEEEEE." I am ashamed.
"Ugh! We don't have time for this!" She took hold of a small knife, which must've been in her pocket this whole time. She held the knife in front of her face, shut her eyes tightly and murmured something that I couldn't quite make out. I thought she was going to stab me, when she thrust the knife behind me, and I felt a cutting sensation just near my neck. As soon as I realised what was happening, we were plummeting towards the ground, with leaves strewn over the rough surface.
"Come on! We need to move!" I must admit, it was extremely attractive when she took control of the situation like that. How she was so sure of herself and what she was doing.
"Oh come on! Not again!" She groaned. "Why do you always do that! Stop daydreaming, for gods sake!" She hauled me to my feet, and at once regained conscious thought. Her hand clasped around mine, and that instantly sent a jolt of lightning through my body.
"Dude." I didn't think, it just escaped my lips. "We just jumped out of a tower, 20 metres above ground. And we're, fine..." Then - I might have blacked out, but I'm pretty sure it happened - then, she pressed her lips to mine. I tried to hold on to her and pull her closer, but it was over all too fast.
"Stay with me, okay? Concentrate. I- I don't want to lose you." I stumbled towards her, still in shock, and luckily she was stronger than she looked. She caught my shoulders, and pushed me back to a standing position. Her head whipped around, and my gaze followed soon after.
"This way!" The huge man called out. Her hand gripped mine, and we pelted into the forest.
