Summary: There's a lot of things people regret in their everyday lives; sometimes minor, but quite often large scars from their past of which they feel may never heal as long as they live. That they'll spend the rest of their time on earth, sobbing to themselves at night, wishing for a chance to just go back in time and start all over again; to mend what was once broken. And this is Michael's most prominent failure, as he believes. This is the story of how he killed an angel.

A/N: Hmm, well this is definitely angsty, and it is edited, so I hope my writing style is up to all of your standards! I wrote it specifically with female pronouns, so I'm sorry to the guys out there - but feel free to request gender specific imagines any time. I'll have my requesting rules page up as soon as possible. But for now, you can send them in blindly? However, please do not get upset if I decline it for whatever reason (which I hardly doubt I will do), but if so, don't kill me haha ! OKay, bye, love you!

She stared at the midnight sky with a sorrowful longing, her lips parted but no voice came out. Her hair had been brushed back and secured to fit the purpose of not falling into her tired eyes but the wind proved that to be quite a feat. And a low, chilling hum buzzed from within her throat as her feet dangled and kicked along to the song which played on repeat in her head. A song who's lyrics encapsulated and mirrored her pain enough to push her through tonight's horrific events and kept her at peace as if for a moment. But moments were short lived and never lasted till daybreak.

The night air was surprisingly gentle as it caressed and kissed the skin upon her wrists and nose with spiteful nips of cold; it didn't really bother her however, her mind far too occupied by a chaotic storm of flashbacks from tonight and from every other time before. Her place sitting upon the ledge of her high school's roof was one she visited often; a place of solitude where she could go to clear her head and make empty promises to the moon. She felt numb. So bitterly numb that her hands began to tremble and she felt the stab of ice shoot right through her dying heart. Tears pricked her pretty (e/c) eyes and sooner or later, a single droplet rolled down a flushed cheek.

A crack of a snapping tree branch and shaking leaves in the distance caught her attention immediately. She refrained from looking back though, understanding that it was pointless, for she already knew who it was climbing the towering hunk of wood that just so happened to stand tall right next to the school. Its' branches a clear pathway onto the rooftop. Several seconds later and she could hear the slap of sneaker soles smacking against concrete behind her as the perpetrator began to close in. The soothing tongue of mumbled song failed to cease even as a warming presence pressed up against her back, a pair of arms slithering around and locking themselves around her waist. And she lent into his touch without a second thought to spare. He was knelt behind her from where she dangled her feet over the ledge, his head ducked beneath her elbows and chin resting lightly upon her hip bone.

With a soft voice, he whispered against her body as his hands slipped underneath the hem of her graphic tee, the rough pads of his fingers beginning to rub comforting circles upon her tummy; "You should really wear a jacket the next time you come up here. It's getting colder nowadays." She didn't fail to notice the laced boredom that slipped and mixed with his tone and it caused a pang of shame to strike her already aching heart. She did this so often to him that it hurt and she knew he had grown tired of this by now. Tired of her.
