The next day after the fire
"Just like in your vision"-Monk
'How did this happen. Ryokuryou High reportes 'a locker room fire on the 12th day' after the ghost incidents started, but in my vision I remember thinking 'this looks like a tv studio not the locker room' so Naru decided to set up lit detection equipment in the studio instead, and then the fire. I can't believe it really happened. It actually feels kinda good to be useful for once '-Mai thought
"But his is far worse then you described, you said the walls would get burned but you didn't say it would be this bad"-Monk
"What did you expect"-Yasu
"Where else were the phantom lights"-Naru
"Huh? Oh um in the print shop, the language lab and the nurses office but..."-Mai
"But what?"-Naru
"It was probably dumb luck that I found this studio."-Mai
"Not that I'm counting on you"-Naru said as he turned to do something else
"What did you say"-Mai said annoyed
"Hey Naru-bou wouldn't you say this cameras just about had it?"-Monk
"Indeed, don't worry it was insured"-Naru
"Huh"-Yumi
"Huh, But didn't you say... you know that we had to work for you to pay for the other camera the I broke but you didn't need the money you just want free help, right??"-Mai
"You might be getting a little too smart for your own good"-Naru said with a sly smile
"💢 you jerk, you big fraud, damn you"-Mai said annoyed as monk held her back
"Watch what you're doing, my toes! watch out for my feet!"-Monk
"Lin reset the equipment"-Naru
"Yes, sir"-Lin
Everyone went they're separate ways after cleaning up the room from the fire, John and Yumi were walking out the room together when Naru approached them and stopped them to as Yumi something.
"Did you know about Mai's vision?"-Naru
Yumi glanced at John before answering, "yeah".
"Did you have the same vision?"-Naru
She stared at him for a sec before answering "yeah".
"Why didn't you tell me?"-Naru
"I didn't see the need to"-Yumi
"Didn't I tell you to let me know if anything happens?"-Naru
"Nothing happened that you didn't already know of, I knew you would listen to Mai even if I didn't say anything and you'd believe her, or am I wrong."-Yumi
Naru didn't answer to the last part but told her that if anything else happens to make sure to report to him.
"Fine, I will and with that they turned to go on their on ways.
With Yumi and John
They had decided to take a short break so they took a walk and decided to go get some snacks while on they're way John asked "So you had the same dream as Mai?"
"Yup"-Yumi
"I take it, you haven't told the others about your abilities"-John
"Nope"-Yumi
"Not even Mai?"-John
"Nope"-Yumi
"Are you going to tell her?"-John
"I thought about, but I don't think it's a good idea, for now at least"-Yumi
"Sorry I'm asking so many questions"-John
Yumi smiled at him "Nah, it's fine, I don't mind, you're one of few who know, I get the curiosity, ask away".
"Oh alright, well um is there a reason as to why you don't think it's a good idea to tell them?"-John
Yumi thought about how she should answer, a big part of that reason was Gene, but she didn't know if she should say anything or not, " I, well I came across some discoveries and I'm trying to solve them but certain people can't know because there would just be too many questions and very little answers". She looked over at John and saw that his face still had questions on what she just said.
'Hey Gene?' She thought
'Yeah?'-Gene
'Should I tell him'-Yumi
'Uh well can you trust him?'-Gene
She thought about it as she looked at him for a moment. 'Yeah, I can'.
'Then there's your answer'-Gene
"I want to tell you something John"-Yumi
"Yeah?"-John
"I can't say a lot right now, because we have the case but just know that it has to do with what I just said, and you have to promise me you won't tell anyone else, no one from the team, on what I'll tell you ok?"-Yumi
John looked at how serious she was and promised not to tell anyone.
She held up her pinky
John was surprised but thought the gesture was cute and smiled at her and made the pinky promise with her.
"Um so you and Yasuhara are on a nickname basis?"-John tried to ask casually
Yumi glanced at him amused at the question "Mhm".
"Cool, cool, Yasu was it?"-John
'Oo I think someone's a lil jealous'-Gene
'Shut up gene'-Yumi thought back with a smile
'The dudes questioning you about Yasu'-Gene
"Yeah, me and Mai have been hanging out with him often as we've worked on the case and I guess you could say we've become friends so we thought hey let's drop the formalities"-Yumi
"Cool, just friends?"-John
She looked at him, "Yeah, just friends."
"Alright"-John said with a smile satisfied with the answer
They got to a vending machine and got some snacks and decided to sit on the window ledge and shared their snacks. They talked for a while, then just sat there sharing her earbuds and listening to some music, enjoying one another's presence, and as Yumi put her hand on the window ledge she accidentally placed it on top of his but then moved her hand besides his, he felt her hand and looked over at Yumi who had turned to look the other way as her face became flustered, he smiled looked down as his cheeks turned pinkish and moved his hand closer to hers, she felt this in surprise but moved her hand closer as well till they ended up just holding hands. They stayed there for a while looking away from one another with small smiles.
